Does twin snakes follow the exact same storyline as the first MGS cause, I've played 2 and 3 but have never played the fist game and also happen to have a gamecube. I just want to know if playing twin snakes will give me the same experience as playing the first MG.

TS is almost a direct port of the original game, but in a new engine. The graphics are better, the controls are the same as that of MGS2 (in other words, much better than that of MGS1) the cutscenes are directed better, the voice acting has been re-recorded (but with the same script), and the enemies are smarter.

MGS:TT is everything that MGS1 was, but more.

A few lines are different, but it is basically the same. And if you have a Gamecube and like Metal Gear games you really should get it.

Probably cheaper now too.

The only real difference is that nostalgia feeling when you get all warm and fuzzy inside after a long sit down with MGS1.

I dont have GC and always wanted to play MGS:TS .This is the good reason to get it.Are the cutsence extended too?

Yeah, and they're pretty kewl too. Though maybe a bit exaggerated.

i think its only truly good if you've played the very original

the original is basically - heres what would happen, more or less realistically

TS is - heres what would happen if MGS and the matrix had a baby

i'd say try to find the PC version, beat it, then get the GC version

When I beat MGS1 for the first time, it was like a revelation for me, I was completely stunned and floored. When I first beat MGS:TTS, I was a bit disappointed because: 1) the gameplay changes didn't really add much 2) the graphics weren't quite as good as MGS2 3) the re-recorded voices didn't have quite as good a delivery and 4) the cut-scenes (while a marvel to behold) were WAY too unrealistic (even for Metal Gear). Then I got over it, and now I play it in place of the original all the time because the experience is basically the same, just with better graphics, you do have to look past the overly-exaggerated cut-scenes though. I still have a soft spot for MGS1, and I would suggest that you at least play the original a couple of times, but for now Twin Snakes would be a great purchase.

The voices in twin snakes are worse then the original!

I prefer the original, but that's probably just because I've played it so much. I thought the voice acting was better in MGS too.. If you happen to have a GameCube, it's certainly a good game to get though.

TTS is only better for the graphics, but not much better. The voice acting sucks! Mei Ling and Natassia do not have accents anymore and Naomi sounds like a black woman. Snake can trip and fall flat on his face while running up/down the stairs, but in the cut scenes he has better moves than the ninja. Some character designs suck like Meryl, and the codec scenes are all rehashed, sometime the lips and voice are not timed right making it look like a Godzilla movie.

MGS the iriginal had great voice acting and a nostalgic feel to hit that cant be replaced, but TTS is still a great game to play, when I got a gamecube it was the first game I got. If you played MGS2, the gameplay is similiar and so are the graphics.

Actually to sum it all up, MGS:TS is is the MGS1 story line with MGS2 gameplay.


However the acting in MGS:TS seems to have hit an all time low, even in the MGS universe.
