I didnt like the game because it felt more like a job than a game. Why the hell do I have to wait 7 days sometimes a month to train one skill in order to finally get into a ship that I want or to have the ability to mine ice. Not to mention when creating stuff unlike the other games where ok you have to spend some time but in a few minutes you get the satisfaction of having something to show for it not freaking wait DAYS on end!!!

For the record, I was promised a free 14 day trial, and ended up paying $19.95 for the game + 1st month anyways. Played it for a week, got sick of it, uninstalled.
It's pretty, but I found next to nothing to do. Wander out 2 star systems from home and you're suddenly completely outgunned in every firefight. So it comes back to running boring transport missions and mining. So I canceled last July. I've been considering re-evaluating the game, and paying the $15 for a reactivation, but logging in is impossible! I've used the reset password function about 5 times, and none of those reset passwords has worked for my account. | |

Make a new character and Il help you our you can join my corporation I will get you into a Cruiser then you can start winning fights then il get you into a Battlecruiser.
It takes time maybe amonth or so of trying and youl feel the wonderfull benifits the first few weeks demand patience it takes a real person/ gamer with good patience to get the benifits. You guys make judgments after a weeks play and you aint even in a corp in that whole time so no wonder your not moving fast and just becoz im 2 mill Skill points behind a player does not mean i cannot outsmart him. Its the nature of the game. -------------------

quote AllNamesTakenYip Eve can be a hard game to get into, especially since you should train learning skills fairly earlier on and this makes it even more boring. quote AllNamesTakenI have a friend that quit after 15 minutes.... Tbh the starter corp can be quite good, since they are big and have plenty of people to talk to / ask questions. As for the skill points it all depends what you are flying really, lets say both players are in a frigate, chances are the older player will have little to no advantage then. Then there's also things like electronic warface to take into consideration. -------------------

Cool, what do you do ingame for cash etc? Are you in a corporation? So far I've just been running missions for the Caldari navy, getting decent money for it while I wait on my skills to complete and buy a cruiser. Not sure where I want to focus on really though, fighting or mining.

I run missions, I can make 20million from a good mission.
Yes i'm in a corp they are mainly production based (Mining and manufacturing) with a few mission runners. Personally I don't like mining it's so damn boring and I don't really see where the profit is in it. But some people like it. -------------------

Hmm sounds good, I shall stick to missions for now then. I'm training learning stuff now and soon I'll buy a cruiser and hopefully get some level 2 missions, as level 1's are all extremely easy already.

Just take the learning skills to lvl 1 or 2 for now, the increase for higher lvls will make every little difference.
Also train cybernetics and stick in some implants. Social skills also help you get better agents faster, look at there information to see which skills apply to them. -------------------

Eve in a hard game very hard, the best part is the corp side but most corps want you to be over your trial or a minimum of XX sp. I have played for 2 years and made and lost billions. Sometimes luck will be on your side sometimes not, try it you will soon find out if "its your cup of tea" WoW is in some ways too easy as you dont realy lose much in eve you can lose most of your assets in one careless jump. Good but hard only lately LAG has been the worse part of the game.

What is the natural progression from a cruiser? Battle cruiser? I'm in a caracal at the moment, need something to aim for training wise. Fair way off money wise though as I've hardly been playing due to slow internet.

re: Dissapointment of EVE Online |

Depends really BattleCruisers are nice but i've never really found a use for them.
But the Drake (Tier 2 Caldari) is a true missile ship and was just added to the game a few months back. It will handle level 3 missions with ease and some level 4s as well. The firepower is a bit lacking against battleships though so most level 4 missions will take an age to complete, compared to the speed of a battleship. Personally I did level 3 missions in an Assault Frigate and with invention there are a lot cheaper than there were back then. I love small fast ships, however I can actually fly Caldari Assault ships (I used Amarr ones for missions). The hawk is a total nightmare to fit unless you put on rockets and lose half of the ship bonuses, the Harpy however is a great ship with rails if you can use them it can easily hit from 80km, with my skills I get about 120km. You could always max (Or lvl 4) your cap and shield skills so they are ready when you hit a battleship, or work on weapon skills and head towards Tech II. But if level 3 missions are next an Assault ship will do nicely and in some cases they are cheaper than cruisers as well, only disadvantage is insuring them is pretty much useless since they only cost about 2m to make. Prices range from 5m - 15m depending on the ship and region. -------------------
