re: Favorite boss battle in MGS series

My allround favourite would be the battle against Psycho Mantis.

The second would be liquid, on top of the metal gear (It's more emotional than the boss battle imho).

Metal Gear Solid 2 was more of a movie for me, it was a great game, but I thought it was so great because of the story, not really the gameplay. Don't get me wrong, I totally loved playing it too, but when I think back to that game, I think about the amazing story

Metal Gear Solid 3's gameplay is nice, but it's more of an 'extra' game, just telling you a bit more about how Big Boss became the Big Boss. The boss battles in 3 are better than they were in 2, there are more and there are so many ways to fight them. That's what I like most about the MGS3 boss battles, they are never the same

EDIT:
Lawl, major kick. why was this topic in the active topics list?

EDIT2:
Heh, I was looking at the 'registered since' date :+

re: Favorite boss battle in MGS series

MGS1:Liquid ontop of Rex.
MGS2:Solidus(swords Rule!)or the part when you fight with Snake inside of Arsenal.
MGS3:The End,or The Boss.
I think that the last battle with The Boss is THE BEST fight ever...because of all fo the feelings in the battle plus the fact that your CQC is at its best. i love reversing boss' attacks..once i grabbed her arm and flipped her to the ground even though i have no idea how i did it.

re: Favorite boss battle in MGS series

Psycho Mantis, would have to be the best boss, by far.

It was so spine tingling, the first time I played -- considering I had other Konami games saved on my Memory Card -- for him to rattle off the names of the games as if he were reading my mind. It was pretty freaky.

The easy way to beat him though, was to plug the controller into the second port because then he couldn't "predict" your moves. XD

Snake might preform different moves depending on the direction you press on the directional pad or it is possible that it depends on the different attacks that the boss preforms and snake preforms a different counter to each one. I'm not sure.

I liked the psycho mantis battle most. Purely because of the creepiness involved. And then the lengthy battle against MGREX... there were so many emotions involved

i really did like the end battle because in order to find you had to actually look not just say oh there he is now let me go kill him

E:I can see that
V:I know you can Im not questioning your powers of observation Im merely remarking the paradox of asking a masked man who he is

re: Favorite boss battle in MGS series

I used the Directional Microphone and Thermal Goggles to find him and I never stood up during the whole fight unless I was chasing him after sneaking up behind him. You can't use your binoculars or a rifle with a scope or he'll see the glare of the sun on it. That's how I found him at a distance and shot his face with a pistol. It took me two damn hours to kill him on my first run through the game.
