Early game stages. |
|
Does anyone enjoy the challenge of beginning a new game with a totally different type of character?
If so , what are some of the ones you've tried just for fun.

I think the early part of the game is the most challenging and therefore the most fun. Once you get to Level 20 (even less if you use glitches) you can pretty much wipe out anything in Morrowind. The expansions will keep you challenged until Level 40 or so, but after that even the expansions are easy. A lot of times I'll pay with a new character up until about Level 10 or so and then just scratch them and start over with a new character. My first character was a Nord Warrior, and I've tried dozens of different combinations since then. Here are a few I've enjoyed:
Argonian Swamp Wizard (Custom Magic-User/Fighter) Dunmer Thug (Custom Stealth-based character) Imperial Thief (Premade class) Orc Master-at-Arms (Custom Fighter) Altmer Sorcerer (Premade class) Making your own classes is a lot of fun, so that is recommended. Sometimes I like to play as one of the premade classes, since the premade classes tend to suck and it makes it more challenging. The replay value of Morrowind is very high primarily due to the fact that there are practically an infinite amount of characters that can be created. This is why the game is still being sold seven years after it came out.

I've only tried three so far.
Berton Mage/custom class. Dark Elf Thug/Assassin class. Argonian spellcaster/fighter custom class. With each attempt I get better at setting the stats but, the temptation to use the soultrap glitch is always hard to resist!

You can always create two separate saves for each character. Use one save for your glitched character, and one for your non-glitched character. I tend to stay away from glitches, but I'll occasionally make an extra save, glitch the character, and have him go on a murderous rampage. It is a great way to relieve stress.

How many characters do you try to keep track of at the same time?

i usually only use one at a time, but my max is 2-3 characters at once, 4 or more just gets WAAAAYYY to spread out and i cant level them all effectively

quote ZIELUsually only one. I might create an extra save (for my killing sprees), but one character at a time is enough for me. I've tried having two separate characters going at once, but it can get confusing since there is a lot to do in the game.

The early game stages are actually the easiest if you know what to do and where to go.
WHERE: Ghorak manor KILL: orc dude who's full dressed REWARD: an ebony sword This took me about 10 tries at level 4 If you also go upstairs you can get some nice orc armor. That's how you dominate the early stage of the game. ------------------- Realizing is worth nothing if you don't change.

quote elder roseHe has a full suit of Orcish armor, and a great sword (Daedric Dai-Katana with a soul trap on Target effect). Well worth a quick diversion when you are in Suran if you are strong enough to kill him.
