re: Best Armours.

The script only applies to stuff that continues the game. Because optional text/speech doesn't do that, I think we can agree that it doesn't count as the script.

re: Best Armours.

*Sigh*

Casting Cheer x4 (As it will still reduce all attacks beneath 9,999) can be done before Penance's 1st turn easily, and will never wear off, as no character will ever die.

Megalixir's will have to be manually thrown numerous times to keep HP at a reasonable level, and reduce damage output, which may give the arms 2 consecutive turns (Ie, dead), or give Penance a turn with both arms alive.

If you used an Auto Regen armour with BHPL, you'd never have to heal (At least, a lot less), and can consistently keep damage up.

Face it dude, your armour isn't as efficient as the others.

re: Best Armours.

First I have to start with saying this, "Congratulation!!!."

Is the first time I read a thread completly, with actually good information, and it still keep it on topic.

Now that I finished with that, I play FFX a very long time ago and beated it. The thing after about a year later I realise that I beated the game w/o doing any of the Monster Arena, or Optionals bosses or even maybe aeons. So I decided to start again a file like maybe 5 months ago, but stop playing it. Now after reading this thread I have alot of question that I don't get it maybe because its been a long time since I played this game or I didn't even know that that exits.

What are the Celestial weapons? Like in another words Ultime weapons for all your caracters.

Like Caladbolg for Tidus or are you guys talking about another weapon.

How you get the 3 stars?

When you said Atlas is the best armour for Rikkus' is thats the original name for the armour or is more like a nick?

What is really a good standard armour for a BHPL and for a non BHPL?

Also I need a good weapon setup for a physically person and for a magic caster person.

Its necessary to have BHPL or thats if you want?

Thanks and sorry if that is too long.

re: Best Armours.

Actually, my armour is definately more efficient througout the game. Ribbon = no status ailments. Great Marlboro, ambush, bad breath, on your armor and you have a good chance at a game over because of confusion and such. Of course this can be avoided with first strike. Don't tell me some shit armor with defence +20% is more efficient throughout the game.

re: Best Armours.

Throughout the game if you have BHPL and Ribbon, you cheated.

As for the MA, or any normal fights, First Strike solves any Marlboro issues, and an Auto Haste/Protect/Phoenix/Ribbon is more than sufficient.

...Okay I won't even though it's true. It reduces ALL PHYSICAL DAMAGE BY 20% AFTER TAKING YOUR DEFENCE STAT INTO ACCOUNT. Advising RIBBON is the BIGGEST mistake you've made in the entire thread so far, SINCE NTSC PLAYERS CANNOT ACQUIRE IT AT ALL. At least you know First Strike is useful... as long as you have Provoke.

Why is everyone ignoring me?

Yeah, I have the NTSC so I can't get ribbon.

re: Best Armours.

Well, if you don't have the PAL/International version(s) don't be misled by Mcilrath and I's argument. We were talking about an armor for Penance. The strongest monster in the U.S. version is Nemesis. You can reduce the strength of his physical attacks but all you really need is auto-life to win this fight. He has an attack that will hit 99,999 on everyone regardless of defense. Also, he has another attack, I can't quite remember the name, where he sprays a flurry of attacks from wing-like structures that will hit everyone for well over 9999 damage.

re: Best Armours.

You pluralised 'I' incorrectly. It should say 'my argument with Mcilrath' or 'Mcilrath's argument with me' otherwise gramatically it is incorrect, but I digress.

In that battle you can defeat Nemesis before it can act in the US version (You may have to sacrifice one Aeon).
In the PAL/INT versions, it is still easy to beat Penance by using meat shield Aeons instead of Auto-life.

They are the best weapons in the game - the ultimate weapons, they ignore defense

They aren't talking about any weapon, they are talking about armour

quote Cangriman
How you get the 3 stars?
Catoblepas in the Monster Arena drops them, you can bribe Behemoth King 1350000 gil for 14, they can be stolen from Jormungand, Shinryu(both in Monster Arena), and you can get 60 in the Reniem Temple Chocobo race(5 poles).

quote Cangriman
When you said Atlas is the best armour for Rikkus' is thats the original name for the armour or is more like a nick?
Atlas is any armour for Rikku that has Break HP limit customized on it.

quote Cangriman
What is really a good standard armour for a BHPL and for a non BHPL?
A good armour for a BHPL party is Auto-Haste, BHPL, Auto-Phoenix and Auto-Regen(this can be changed to Protect). A good armour for a non-BHPL party is Auto-Haste, Auto-Protect, Auto-Phoenix and Auto-Potion.

quote Cangriman
Also I need a good weapon setup for a physically person and for a magic caster person.
Just use their celestial weapons

quote Cangriman

no, it is not necessary - any boss can be beaten with 9999 health, it just makes battles easier if you BHPL
