Has anyone else noticed any similarities between Tidus from FFX and Cloud from Advent Children? They look very similar to me, like they're somehow distantly related or something...

What about any other similarities between FF characters? Eg: Rikku & Yuffie

Tidus and Cloud? They are both blonde, and that is where the similarities end.

Not true. Cloud and Tidus also have blue eyes.

Seriously though, besides them being blond and having blue eyes, they are nothing alike.

Don't think you can judge them on three similarities and call them alike. Their personalities are WAAAAAAY different. Tidus has a darker complextion than Cloud

It's just the character designer. They always have the same guy design the characters, notice Kimahri and Red XIII's face. He just incorporates the same or similar elements from a previous game into the current game. Just like how the lead-male character almost always has a sword...

Cloud is also way cooler than Tidus. Tidus is a crazy, mentally damaged, psycho.

Tidus starts off a little weird (just a tiny bit), but this is because he has no idea what's going on. Later on in the game though, he understands and realises what this Yevon stuff is all about. That is why I said he was "mentally damaged", 'cause his mind was damaged by all of that weird stuff he went through... Not sure how much sense that made.

Yes but Tidus has too many bad points whereas Cloud has alot of good points. The only good point for Tidus is....errr...he's a Blitzball player

I guess it would be hard to relate to a guy who finds out his idol was a brutal murderer, then gets captured by a mad scientist and spends 5 of his teenage years trapped in a lab and experimented on, had his best friend save him, then a few minutes later had his best friend killed in front of his eyes, went into a mental breakdown type of thing, got his memories mixed up with his best friend's memories, had another close friend killed in front of him by his ex-idol, and so on.


Tidus got transported to another world, but that's probably the most traumatic thing that happened to him.

Oh, and regarding looks. They aren't too similar.

He has that sort of sports-player muscly build, with dark/tanned skin, dark blonde hair, and darker blue eyes.

Cloud is more ... erm ... pretty
He has a feminine, more Asian appearance.
Thinner face, bigger bluer eyes, spiky light blonde hair.


Because Nomura desgined them both, they are bound to have some similarities.
But I'd say Squall has more similarities to AC Cloud in his face/body than Tidus does.

But their personalities are like polar opposites.
