Shadow of the Colossus--Worth it? |
|
Hello, I'm considering on buying this game. I've heard it's pretty awesome. How good is it, exactly? 'Round here, it's about $15-20 dollars now.

Actually, that depends.
This game isn't meant for everybody. To play this game, you have to like the artistic style of it, and the strange mysterious storyline, that is short but very deep, a story that you need to think for yourself of what can be happened before the game's events and also after the game's events. There is not very much to do in the game, but to find and battle the 16 colossi. Although, fighting a colossus is a great gaming experience that you really have to witness for yourself. But that's the only thing you do in this game, fighting the colossi, for the rest, you're just traveling with your horse in a huge deserted land, with nothing but the sounds of the horse, and the blowing of the wind, although, this game has some beautiful orchestral music, but you only hear that during cut-scenes, and when you battle a colossus. But having these Beautiful deserted landscapes is what the game designers were after, to give the player a lonesome feeling, but the action with the colossi really makes it up for that. Although, not everybody finds this game good, some people wanted some more things to do in the game, or they wanted some more simple stuff to the story, but they don't understand the artistic side of the game. I say, buy the game, just to experience fighting a colossus, especially a flying one. But remember what I said about the artistic side of the game, though. ------------------- ![]()

Ah, no music during the travels between the fights? Well, that's alright. You say a good point about that. And I'm more than likely like the art in this game, I've seen some of it before.
Thank you. I will buy it when I have the chance.

quoteMusic between fights would ruin the game. The silence offers a minimilistic stream of isoloation and desolation. Music between fights would be incidental traveling music. The silence in this game is absolutley beautiful. ------------------- PSN: Esoterika Playing: Mother 3, LittleBIGPlanet, Crisis Core Wanted: Skate 2 Waiting patiently for: Star Ocean Second Evolution

Ah, yes. Not complaining here, and you have a point there. No music will be just fine for me.
