Quest for the Last Big Secret - Recap |
|
The last Big secret still hasnt been discovered and we are still trying to figure out what it is. Over at the Playstation fourms, we have gathered alot of clues/information and we feel as if we are very close in discovering what it is. We need your help also so please post your ideas or clues. Here Is a lil of what we have gathered so far:
I'm making this as an aid / reference to the hunt. Following is a recap of what we know so far. Lord Emon said [in the game's prologue] that the Forbidden Lands began from the "Resonace of Intersecting Points". Naturally, this would be assumed to indicate the exact center of a cross or otherwise multi-rayed design. It has recently been discovered that the four 'Symbol Blocks' decorating the Shrine of Worship are actually top-down views of key locations in the Forbidden Lands. These locations, when viewed from the game's Map Screen, line up to form a cross. At the center of this cross is Number XI, Celosia's, temple. In the back of the temple lies a wall fitted with a Medallion-shaped molding. The same symbol can be found over doorways and openings throughout the game, though more importantly, a pair of the same can be found in number VI, Barba's underground Prison. The size of the symbols allows the player to see that they have been coloured a bright, bright blue, and seem to be inlaid with a series of gems. Another place the symbol can be found is on number XVI, Malus', gate. The symbol can be activated by reflecting sunlight, via the sword, onto it. The symbol can be found once again in the Secret Garden, though this time it seems to be glowing and emanating an azure light. Unfortunately, this as far as the hunt has gone. Any help on this would be very much appreciated. Happy Holidays! ~Ascaida ...............You think the symbol's a vital and the temple's a colossus, right? If not, then my bad. ... So yeah. I'm thinking giving it a good stab will do... something. I'm not sure what, exactly. Nor am I sure how to get to it; it's just barely out of Wander's jumping range. From atop Agro, it'd be possible. However, that would require opening the door at the top of the 'tower' portion of the Shrine of Worship. So what am I thinking will ultimately happen? In this order: 1.) We have to open the door at the top of the tower. 2.) Get agro up to the garden and use him to jump to the symbol. 3.) Give it a good stab. 4.) Two things could happen here: 4a.) The symbol is a switch that activates the blue medallion symbols. 4a2.) Stabbing the symbols pops open the door in Celosia's temple. From there...? Or, 4b.) The symbol immediately opens the door to Celosia's temple. From there...? Or, 4c.) The symbol begins the long process of raising Hydra's temple from the lakebed, as well as activates the other medallion symbols, which are in a array suggesting multiple sources of... something focusing on a single point. See where I'm going with this? Lookin' at you, Block number One. And 5.) ... Man, there are so many what-if's from here forward. A.) Celosia's door leads out of the forbidden lands. B.) The door leads to the ICO Castle. I think there's a way to get to it simply because I've seen a similar texturing technique used on the Shrine of Worship when it's way off in the distance. It's all blurry and 2-Dimensional until you get closer to it. C.) Hydrus' temple is raised, and then....? ____________________________ So I'm STRONGLY leaning toward Hydrus' sunken temple coming to the surface. That or, I don't know, Celosia's door leads to the East Coast of the Forbidden Lands. Point is, no matter how you look at it, it all comes back to the symbol. We know it's there, we know it's solid and emitting a light that flickers in real time, and the Queen's sword, which opens / activates things, starts going crazy when it's near it. ... I think we're really close to figuring this out, my friends. Just a bit more.... ~Ascadia For all the info and clues for what we have gathered click here [link name=http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=shadowofcolossus&thread.id=41796&view=by_date_ascending&page=1][/link]

I really wished I believed you, but I can't. Ever since all those rumors in SOTC, I don't believe there is anything. But there is a little hope in me. I just wish this forum weren't dead. Then more could explore. BTW what do you mean by stabbing while not holding onto anything and the temple? And what is this underwater temple? And even though I don't believe, from the looks of it, I think your supposed to be finding a way to open that door on top of the temple first instead of making possible conclusions. But I believe this game has been modded before, so that would mean there's nothing. Right?

I apologize for my bluntness, but that's a whole lot of bull. Given enough work, you can piece together anything with anything else and come up with, well... anything. Intentionally-included secrets in games, as your "evidence" would eventually come to if valid, never stay secret for long- particularly in the age of the internet and game guides. There is no way the enormous group of people who worked on SotC would be able to keep something like that secret, even if their revelation was nothing more than "there's something in the game it seems nobody has found yet." Back when the game came out, this sort of speculation was fun, but now it's just a waste of time.

No one's calling anyone a "hardcore gamer" except you. By the sound of these replies, these are people who aren't "hardcore gamers" and probably don't intend on being called that. So I'd watch where you throw that term around.
I agree with Anduin, however. You are manipulating facts to support your own conclussion. The fact of the matter is, if there was indeed some "super-secret secret" then someone would have found it by now. I remember when this game first came out, I was awed by it. I was mesmerized by it. I was inspired by it. Not by its gameplay, but its artistic approach on a completely remote wasteland, devoid of all life, save for the 16 monoliths. And since this came out soon after I had completed 2 courses in school devoted to picking books and films apart, I felt an urge to do the same here. It was a enormous success, but in my travels, I found nothing but a lot of intense metaphors, allusions, symbols, the whole works (its hiden somewhere in these pages; between pages 6 and 8 I think). But nothing as far as saying there is some secret that no one has even heard about. Its a neat idea, yes, but ultimately, unless you, or someone can produce results, there are no other facts that can support your claim that these "glowing gems" do anything at all, or mean anything. I did learn this in my travels, though, that may knock some sense into you - just because there is something there doesn't mean it does anything. Take the rings in the desert, or the giant tree in the west, or the enigmatic clearing just outside the ruined city in the northwest. They are there, and seem peculiar, but don't do anything. They merely add more to this lifeless land. The turtles, the lizards, the fish, the eels. They are nothing. The enormous open plains that arew nowhere near anything of importance, the monuments that are there for no reason. They are nothing. And so are these symbols. So do people here want to quit? Quit what? You were the one who came here with this far-fetched speculation and expect us to follow the leader? Perhaps if you had produced some results someone may have done something to help, but your word is something not many people here are going to follow (unless you have a rep here). All I do is play this game and marvel at its artistic achievments, not hunt for something that isn't there. I did enough of that already. The game is old and I have better things to do. -------------------

This guy kind of put things regarding the "secret" a bit out of context and yes I know this thread is dead... Now I still don't believe in this so called "secret", but the guys in that forum and thread have discovered neat things. Few of them believe in the secret, but they do try to find neat things. We also have two hackers in it who are making videos. Pikol, who made the Shrine of Worship video where he glitched to the top of the SoW and Radical, who is actually hacking and showing Pikol some cool tricks. We have found a lot of things and you may be interested in reading the past 20 pages. We found numerous things, such as the 16th colossus is always in his arena, the "copy temple", Ico Castle is fake, what's behind the door to Celosia, and much more. I recommend you visit that thread if you are interested in finding some cool facts. If this is advertising I am sorry and please delete this post. ------------------- WHY ROLE-PLAYING SUCKS: Nerd: I'm a troll princess with a level 87 KeyBlade in the Kingdom of Uthlambria!!!! Well I don't play this in quite some time but I remember one thing that if might want look at. In the zone near the last colossus is the gate that only opens after you beat all other colossus. Well there's a coastal line along both sides of that gate. There are some places in that coastal line that are reachable. And I mean places in the "wall" that goes all the way to the ocean. You might want to look at it and see if you can find anything there

I'll start today, but I'm using my PS3, so my save files are out the window. I started, and I'm on eight now, so I'll try to get through twice so I can get enough stamina to climb. But maybe we should look, geographically, at the location of these places, along with the surrounding areas, and specific detail.
I'll be sure to keep you all updated, as long as someone keeps track of findings. Happy hunting, everyone! ------------------- "I was a billionaire before the war.. but now..now? Now I live in a box." "Here's to alcohol, the cause of- and solution to, all life's problems."
