The two smaller colossi...Impossible? |
|
I just can't do those two on time trial. I'm talking about the small ones that resemble cats, but are a lot bigger. 11 and 13 or something. I can get on their back without messing up once, but once I do there's hardly a chance to stab, and if I stab every chance I get it's still not enough to kill it in the time limit. What am I supposed to do?
With that first one, where you have to scare him off the cliff with fire, do you have to jump on his back? I thought he didn't get up at all until you did, but some walkthrough was telling me I should just wait up the top for him to return. -------------------

Every colossi has a certain spot on their vital points where if you hold onto it, you won't be affected by their shaking. This spot is usually right in the middle of the vital point. That's really the only way of beating these two on Hard.
And yes, its best to just jump on his back from the ledge above. -------------------

Ah, I've never found that spot. I usually just get thrown around until I can kill them, but time trial threw that plan out the window.
I'll give it a go. -------------------

Sometimes it just takes doing it a few times. I've found a couple to be pretty luck based.

I think you already beat both of them, but for the 11th colossus, there's this neat little trick. As soon as you make him fall off the cliff, get the stick and light it with fire again and jump down to him. Don't unequip it no matter what. Try to land on his back; if not restart. Since he is scared of fire, he will dash all the way to the arena at incredible speed. Once you are there, just go to the fire lamp, make him hit it, and jump on him. Rinse and repeat.
As for the 14th, he's really easy. Just break his armor as fast as possible. After that, go to the column (pillar) that broke the entire wall. Climb it. After he rams it, he will be stunned. Just jump on its back and stab two or three times, and go back on the column before he recovers. Rinse and repeat. ------------------- WHY ROLE-PLAYING SUCKS: Nerd: I'm a troll princess with a level 87 KeyBlade in the Kingdom of Uthlambria!!!! I attack thee!!!!

With the 11th, what do you mean? How do you hurt him doing that? If you're just jumping on his back while holding the stick...
Yeah I found that about the 14th, why'd no one tell me!? I made a thread specifically to find out something like that that I'd been missing, and no one tells me. I discovered it and it made the fight piss easy. I thought you had to try and get him just by riding on his back! Thanks Slayer. -------------------

Well, you are trying to stab him while he is running and shaking to get to the temple, but if you have the stick just lit, and jump on his back, he will be so scared he will just run all the way to the top, saving precious seconds from the fight. Also if you don't know, the main strategy for the 11th one is to break his armor, make him run to top of temple, go on the fire lamps and make him stun himself hitting them.
The stunning effect is similar to the 14th hitting the pillar. The fire stick on his back just makes him dash to the top quicker so you can damage him using the stun, attack, retreat trick. ------------------- WHY ROLE-PLAYING SUCKS: Nerd: I'm a troll princess with a level 87 KeyBlade in the Kingdom of Uthlambria!!!! OH I've done that before! I didn't even notice! It was like the first time I beat him (second, I think my savefile was somehow lost leading to me redo-ing it). I couldn't defeat him before he went back up there, so I had to chase him up there. He ran into the thing and suddenly I had a lot of time to attack him, but I thought I got lucky. It never clicked that he was stunned. I've been killing him while he runs.
WHY THE SHIT didn't the guides I read show that? Christ. Thanks -------------------

Lol, no problem dude. Of coarse you could always have just jumped and done the jump stab which takes like half his health.
Lol, it's not that hard. ------------------- WHY ROLE-PLAYING SUCKS: Nerd: I'm a troll princess with a level 87 KeyBlade in the Kingdom of Uthlambria!!!! I attack thee!!!!

Jump down to the first cliff, then jump towards the colossus and press R1 + square at the same time. I recommend you test it out a couple of times on the ground or something. Just jump and press R1 + square anywhere. If preformed correctly, it will wipe out half its health, lol. ------------------- WHY ROLE-PLAYING SUCKS: Nerd: I'm a troll princess with a level 87 KeyBlade in the Kingdom of Uthlambria!!!! >_< I thought you were a mod, and that you already knew this stuff, but yea jump stab and then theres also a special spot for each colossus' weak spot where even if they shake you, you won't fall off, when doing this, you could easily make a new record, and it is necesary for alot of them on hard, you may need to restart multiple times to get it correctly

I could never find that special spot on the smaller colossi.
Just because I'm a mod, doesn't mean I know everything! These kind of things are hard to figure out, I have passed the game three times now -------------------
