Real-time/weather?

This may be a completely irrelevant topic to the game at all, but I was wondering, as I have not heard anything on the matter... Does the game play in either (or both) real time and with real weather effects? Do certain areas only contain certain times of day with certain preset climates? Thanks in advanced for any insightful info anyone can provide to me.

From what I can tell all weather in the game is scripted.

re: Real-time/weather?

No, the game does not play in real time, as far as I know. It is always daytime, and there is essentially no whether changes throughout the entire game. I could be completely wrong, as I have only played through 6 hours of the game, but I doubt it.

Certain areas are darker/brighter than others, but that's about it. I'd like to see some rain or thunderstorms, but I haven't run into any.

Maybe it's set so that after you win a battle, you take a nap during the night and then wake up in the morning

re: Real-time/weather?

Those monsters are big, bad and dark enough but to try to fight them at night would be scary and quite a lot more difficult!

re: Real-time/weather?

Actually fighting them at night would be awesome. If there's ever a sequel that should defintely be incorporated into one of the new colossi battles. Maybe the moon light would have something to do with it.

I problaby dont want a sequel anyway, unless there's a cliffhanger at the end. Dont tell me I havent beaten it yet!

re: Real-time/weather?

If it turns dark and day a couple of times that means the corpse of the girl your trying to revive is rotting already, so I doubt there are any weather changes.

I actually meant no weather changes referring to night and day.

re: Real-time/weather?

What saddens me is that their wasn't ENOUGH uniqueness to each individual colossus battle. Sure, there was a lot of uniqueness and differences, but there weren't enough. There should've been one you fought in the dark or something. There.... woah, my mind just died. I had a bunch more unique ideas, but they all disappeared.... oh well.

Some people had these ideas they thought would be cool for the game.
1. A night battle where you use flaming arrows. You launch them into the colossus to light your path upon him. An interesting game mechanic if I do say so myself.
2. Stabbing your arrows into a colossus and using those to climb about him.

re: Real-time/weather?

I think the climbing-on-the-arrows thing was in an early version- I'm not sure why they took it out though.

re: Real-time/weather?

Really? Cause that would've been cool.

A possible scenario: "Crap, I'm on this flying bastard and my grip is nearly about to run out. Only one chance left!" and you'd stab your arrows into it and try and situatate yourself so you can regain stamina but not fall off. That'd be badass.
