Optional ways of climbing collosi |
|
I heard there are at least two ways two climp each colossus. Im pretty sure I used the long way on all of them can someone give me a full list on optional ways if possible.
The only one I know is the one on number three, where you run up his pillar thing and jump over the bracelet in a slingshot like manner. Do you mean is there optional ways of climbing a colossi? Because there is only one way to kill them, and that is through their vital points. But yes, there are multiple ways of climbing a colossi, but not all of them (like the Basilisk for example). On the Bull, there is a point where he will bend down (once he has lost sight of you) and he will do what the Horse, and stick his back to the ground. Here you just grab onto the fur on his back.
Come to think of it, thats the only other one that I can think of for an optional climbing method. Most of the others are all linear and have only one. Well, I'll think of some, sometime. -------------------

For the most part there are only one or two regular ways to beat the colossi. A few that I can think of, coming from personal experience and watching those incredible time attack videos around here somewhere.
1. Generally, you beat him by stabbing him in the leg and then climbing up his back. However, if you stab him twice, he will go all the way down and you can get right on his head. 2. A fast way to win is to ride up to him so that he rears up, then you shoot the bottom of his foot instead of trying to get them while he's just walking along. You can climb up any of his four legs. 3. You can take advantage of game physics and use his sword and arm as a sling shot to get past the armor. 4. There are three ways. Usually you would hide in the tunnels and either sneak up behind him or jump onto the dangling things on its face. However, if you're particularly talented, there is a way to use Agro to ride up, jump onto one of the legs and go from there. 5. There really isn't any other ways than the usual, but you can fall from wingtip to wingtip if you count the seconds carefully enough. 6. The only other way is to climb up his leg and use game physics to jump incredibly high up his body. It's very difficult. 7. You can ignore all the electrical areas if you don't mind getting injured much and are good at rolling quickly. 8. You don't necessarily have to use arrows to get his attention. Whistling like you would for Agro works as well. 9. Like the fourth, there is a way to ride up using Agro and jumping onto one of his back legs. 10. Hm. You don't have to lure him towards a wall to win, any of the big pillars will work too. Also, you don't have to go all the way to the back of his body- rapid pushing of the Triangle button can get you up the front of him as well. 11. *shrugs* 12. It's possible to completely skip the "hiding from shooting" part. If you're careful not to get too close to his "armpits"(you can slip through him and get stuck inside, LOL), you can swim to his back and climb up his tail if you stay underwater to avoid his shots. Also, if you stand on one of the short islands and tempt him, he will lower his head temporarily and you can jump right onto it. 13. If you are very fast, you can get all three spots in one go. It's pretty difficult though, so after taking out one spot or two, jump off of him, and he won't go down into the ground. However, if he does go down, get close to the spot where he comes out (follow with L1) and shoot the bags as he appears. 14. You can use the colossus himself to get up onto one of the bridgey things, skipping the pillar part. 15. When he tries to stomp you, you can climb up his far leg and use the game's physics to jump up really high when he stands up straight again. Also, once he has dropped his club, you can either climb around and drop onto the hand, or either get to the ground and make him try to slam you with the hand and getting on from there. 16. There is a way to completely avoid the usual tunnel-and-wall path that is beyond explaining of words. Just watch the video of the feat. It takes... talent. Like I said, the best way to get an idea of alternative techniques would be watching the videos here. -------------------

I climbed him in a more complex way. I attracted him to the bottom of one of the structures, then I dodged a few attacks and lead him to one of the paths coming out of the four corners. Then I waited till his head was down, jumped on it and climbed and jumped on the part of his mask that you can stand on. After jumping 2 more times, I made it to the part of his head with the three stones.

Well, I just found out that the way you were supposed to knock down the Lizard was to shoot the illuminated portions of his legs. I had been shooting his stomach to knock him down--3x. So I guess there is an alternate way of getting him down.
And if you didn't know, there is a special spot on each of colossi's vital points where if it tries to shake you off, it won't affect you. Most of them require you to be vertical with the vital point, but some (like the Lion) need you to be horizontal. Nevertheless, your position needs to be perfect in order for this to happen. If you can find it, it can be very helpful in the Time Trials. So far I only know of positions on #'s 4,6,9,10,11,12,13,14, and 16. -------------------

At this point, I wouldn't think so. But they aren't really necessary. Just try to stay parallel with the vitals, whether you are horizontal or vertical *shouldn't* really matter.

Well when the Knight pulls his sword out from the ground, he rears it up rather quickly and if you time it correctly you can jump high enough where you can get over his wrist armor without breaking it. It sounds probable, even though I have yet to try it.
And which routes did you take when climbing the Basilisk and incapacitating the Lizard? -------------------

I told you about the basilisk. The Lizard, I noticed the glowing legs and shot them because they were shiny.
