re: Huge old tree

I posted about this in another thread, although it pertains to its metaphorical significance, not getting to it. There are two ways of getting to it. 1) Running across the broken bridge and ascending the cliffs that lead up to it. 2) Travelling through the cave where you fight the Sand Worm colossi and exiting through the southern grotto. You enter from the north, but there is an exit to the south that leads out into The Lair of the Mesa (where the tree is). The tree will be right above the exit. Examine it and tell me it isn't the creepiest tree in the game.

Which one is the sand worm again? I loaned my copy to a friend and have not played in awhile.

The worm. In the sand.

(It's the one in the cave with the... large eyes, not the one in the desert.)

re: Huge old tree

Uh, yes it is. Just sit there and stare at it. The frigin sky behind it is black, its windy as hell, and its just reeks with its ominous presence. Its the only tree of its kind in the game, which makes it even more unique. Its not creepy enough to make me wet myself, but there is something about it that makes me think that way, kinda like that tree in Poltergeist that tried to eat that kid.

re: Huge old tree

it is creepy, its all old and dead, and growing on a rock, but if you go into the cave, and look in the open hole on top, it looks like a jungle up there, i want to see whats up there

re: Huge old tree

If you look at the cliffs surrounding the tree you'll notice they too are covered with thick vegitation. Ironic how something as dead as that tree is surrounded by trees and brush full of life.

I don't find it really different, although it is different from the game. Since where I live in the winter there is plenty of trees like that.
