Ah. I was hoping I wouldn't have to start a new thread for my find! *grins lazily*
Here is a translated article about a lot of the programming that went into this game. Most of it's too technical for me, but it's still most definitely interesting. -------------------

Time to edjumacate you people on this game.
COLOSSI NAMES: *Note: these names are official, and were confirmed by the devs* #1- Valus, The Minotaur #2- Quadratus, Seaside Cave Dweller #3- Gaius, Earth Knight #4- Phaedra, Equus Prime #5- Avion, Delta Phoenix #6- Barba, Goliath/Temple Guardian #7- Hydrus, Thunder Ripple/Sea Dragon #8- Kuromori, Wall Shadow #9- Basaran, Storm Echo #10- Dirge, Sand Tiger #11- Celosia, Flame Guardian #12- Pelagia, Great Thunder #13- Phalanx, Taildrifter #14- Cenobia, Destruction Luster #15- Argus, The Sentinel/Sentry #16- Malus, Grand Gigas (The stuff after the colossi names are the respected colossi's titles) It's been confirmed that there will not be a direct sequel to SotC. "Such a cool idea probably already has a follow-up in the works, right? Certainly in the U.S. you can't create a hit game without publishers instantly demanding a sequel. But that's not happening to Ueda and Kaido. They haven't started on a Colossus sequel, and Ueda said, "Personally I don't think that's going to happen." "I always want to challenge myself," Ueda elaborated. He agreed that he could probably make a sequel that would be superior to the first one, but he wasn't interested in repeating his efforts. Similarly, the pair has no intention of returning to ICO. "When you're young you should challenge yourself to create new material," Ueda explained. I'd post the link to the article, but I'm not sure if that will violate the ToS ot not. He starts his journey to ressurect Mono, who's relationship to Wander is unknown. He kills sixteen colossi to bring back Mono, but doing so eventually caused Wander to be possessed by Dormin. At the start of his journey, he has nothing but a sword, arrows, and his trusty steed Agro. He is reborn as an infant in the end, marked with horns. Mono: Her relationship to Wander is currently unknown. She was sacrificed because she had "a cursed fate". She is eventually brought back to life, not knowing what Wander did for her, and is stuck in the Cursed Lands with an injured Agro, and an infant Wander. Agro: Wander's noble steed. He is used to get from place to place faster, and is present in a few colossi battles. He was thought dead when he launched Wander off his back to save him from the impending doom of falling into a ravine just before the final colossus battle, but is found to be alive, with a broken leg in the end. Lord Emon: A mysterious, elderly man who wears an owl mask. He narrates a small portion of the intro cutscene, and is shown in a small cutscene after killing 12 colossi. At the end, he eventually seals the cursed lands and washes the evil out of Wander, leaving him in the purest form of life, a baby. He escapes the cursed land via the collapsing giant bridge, and wishes that Wander can atone for what he's done. (The) Dormin: Believed to be the villain of the story, the Dormin used Wander for his own benefit, promising him that he would bring Mono back to life. (Which he did.) It was later found out that pieces of Dormin were trapped within the colossi, and killing the colossi would free Dormin. Dormin eventually possessed Wander, and tried to kill Emon and his Men, but eventually failed. Possible links to the biblical character Nimrod have been found. The Colossi: These creatures were supposedly made from the earth, (similar to golems) They cannot be killed unless they are stabbed in their vital spots with one of the three of the ancient swords. It was later found that they housed pieces of Dormin, in an attempt from resurrecting him/her/ whatever Dormin is. This message was edited by Phalanx948 on Feb 28 2006. -------------------

According to a gaming website (I can't remember which, unfortunately), a Shadow of the Colossus 2 may appear on PS3! Of course, not a lot is 100% sure here, so don't get too excited.
Though SOTC did hint a lot about a sequel. ------------------- quote Ace Combat 4 Shattered SkiesThe Scapegoat of Neoseeker

There were no hints in the game that were pointing towards a potential sequel. There were just unanswered questions. Think about it--how would it play out? Who would be the main character? What colossi would you fight? And for what reason would you be fighting for? There is no answer to these questions. The game ended peacefully and for the most part, everyone was satisfied. El fin.
