Yeah it looks like the ICO castle, but I think it might be just random cliffs and rocks for background.

You can cross the bridge, but you can't exit the game area, unfortunately. Despite that, the game is still massive enough as is. Hopefully they'll do a remake and make it bigger.

Just a rumor right now, but I'd love to see one. Graphically, the game could look even more beautiful, though hard to imagine. It would also give them the chance to add the spider, worm, pheonix, boar, gargoyle, and dragon colossi that they took out.

you know what would really be good, if you could take control of all the colossi that you killed
but agro would be all alone

Well, I finally found and bought Ico yesterday so I'll be playing through it soon (also bought Black and KHII; was just checking out Black before I pop in Ico). So now I'll finally be able to see what everyone is theorizing over.

Referring to the article, I couldn't find where he said that it was a sequel. The most I could find was that he said it existed in the same world and was a spiritual successor. While the games have similarities, they don't really have anything story-wise to relate them at this point. We won't have a definite way to connect them until they make a game that does so, which he said he has no intention of doing. Besides, I find it better if the game has no definite story, it allows you to delve into the plot and makes you wonder. I might be one of the few people that actually likes a story with no end and cliffhangers.

re: the games relation to ICO |

I just finished Ico a few minutes ago. And really, the only thing I can summize about the connections is they most certainly seem like they exist in the same world, but different time periods. Kinda like GTA3 is to Vice City is to San Andreas--same world, but different characters, time, setting, and story. But in each of them are little tid bits that show the relation between each game. Just like in Ico and Shadow there are the horns and Shadow Creatures.
So I wouldn't call this a sequel or a prequel. Just a stand alone title that subtlely connects with Ico. -------------------

but its great how the game just lets you think what you want unlike final fantasy 10 they tell you where you are how you got there etc
shadow doesn't tell you anything it doesn't tell you who the girl is or anything just lets you think for yourself which i think makes this game absolutely spectacular and i feel the ending worked perfectly oh yea i thought people call the guy wander short for the wanderer of the land or lone wanderer or something like that coz if you go to www.shadowofthecolossus.com the guy clearly says something along the lines of ' his name is not important'

It's supposed to be the prequel of ICO.
Play the game and you'll find out. ------------------- ![]()

re: the games relation to ICO |

Twin_Master is right it is a prequel to ICO as it says in this
" Shadow of the Colossus is considered both a spiritual successor and prequel to Ico. For several months during and after the game's release, the game's director and lead designer, Fumito Ueda, maintained that the game's status as a prequel was simply his personal take on the game and not necessarily its canon nature, as he largely intended for players to decide the specifics of the story for themselves. However, during an interview in March 2006, Ueda revealed that a specific connection between the two games exists: the world featured in the two is the same, with Shadow of the Colossus taking place at an unspecified time before Ico. He revealed that Wander sires the line of horned boys of which Ico's protagonist is a descendant. Moreover, the shadowy figures which appear in the Shrine of Worship are connected to the shadows which the player must fight in Ico. Both games use unique fictional languages as well" Hope this helps ------------------- You're to weak to defeat me, NOW DIE! Please sign my guestbook

Kk, thanks. Btw, don't you think I beat the game after 2 years? Finally someone replied. Let's all post some theories here people. Questions: 1) Is the baby Wander? 2)Is Dormin really in Mono (probaly not)? 3) You couldn't hear the female voice?
