re: Mono's Destiny? |

What? The original prisons are the idols, not the colossi. Did you pay attention at all during the opening cutscene? The idols are the prisons, you must defeat the colossi, so the idols will fall. The idols are "materials so thick that he's soul could never escape," but yet, it does escape. The creation of the colossi is a huge flaw if it was intentional.

I haven't tried Ico, but if it is at a later point the history of SotC is independent from Ico, we don't need to know anything about Ico in order to understand SotC.
At the Norwegian site they say that he is driven by love when he takes Mono to the forbidden land. Dormin is something like a God, and Gods can take many shapes. Maybe Dormin isn't one, but two Gods. When Mono woke up, she didn't even look back at the desert, so she obviously knew where she was. She knew, because the female part of Dormin lived in her. Some of you may say that it was the horse who led her to the garden, but Agro went to find Wander. Then Mono picked up Wander, who was reborned. That was the male part of Dormin. They went up to the secret garden with Agro. When the "bad" guys escaped from the forbidden land the bridge disappeared. That was Dormin's power, because he/she/they didn't want any others in the land. Dormin isn't an evil God, his/her/their spirit was just trapped in the temple because somebody discovered them and feared his/her/their powers. Maybe Dormin didn't want to be one, but the two of him wanted to be free from the idols and each other and live like humans, maybe forever. Where is better to spend the eternity at than in a beautiful garden at the top of a temple in the middle of nowhere? All they wanted was peace and no others in their land who could do they any harm. Has anyone come up with this theory before? This message was edited by Zarac on Dec 03 2007.

quote DrakkhenThe colossi are the incarnations of the idols. It couldn't be reversed. They were going to exist either way so they aren't a "flaw" as you say. btw Dormin is not a man nor a woman. It's an alternate being. This message was edited by ultimaslayerx on Dec 22 2007.
