yo. just got the game and owned a lizzy with my bow, what does that orb thing do?

It's a lizard tail. Collect enough and your strength will increase, allowing you to hang on to stuff for longer. The strength meter is the big pink circle.
There are a finite number in the game, and you have to kill all of them to claim 100% completion ;D
Also, eat the fruit from trees to do the same for your health.

There aren't actually very many stand out trees, so look for lone trees. They have bright red apples on em. Shoot the apples and eat em. There is a forest too, and I think that has a couple apple trees.

The fruit trees are hard to miss. They're fairly big trees, and usually have moss growing on them. Many of them have a small pond sitting stagnant next to it.

As for lizards, only white-tailed ones give you benefit. Normal black lizards are just eye candy that you can eat. And don't bother trying to shoot and kill hawks, doves, fish or turtles. It don't work. Especially with turtles, what with their rock hard shell and all...

Actually if you're a good hitter/aimer, then it will work.
More success when using the explosion arrow.

But if your marksmanship is especially good, you can aim at the tail of a lizard. The tail falls off and the lizard runs off perfectly okay, except for its tail.
