Finally got this game delivered yesterday from play.com 22/9/03, managed to complete the first level and overall impressions of this game are very good, the graphics are the most notable difference between this game and its predecessor, the buildings actually look like buildings and seems like pivotal has spent some time on this department, also the enemy dont just stand there but they dodge and take cover, there is also the ability that when you lay down you can now roll from side to side. Like i said have just completed the first level and im sure that there will be other snazzy little bits to talk about!! Go out and buy this game....... you wont be disappointed especially if you enjoyed the first one!!!!

Whats the first level about? I bet they fly you into somewhere by helicopter or airplane or something.

Do you start of in some desert valley like the first one?

You start on the first level with all 4 men, you have to get to the crash site of the delta team as they have been shot down (doesnt surprise me), so you are in the jeep to start with with iraqis taking pot shots before stopping at a base, you have to secure this, you then move on to the outskirts of a city before the crash site which again you have to secure, when you reach the crash site you are done for this level!! Havent had time to start level 2 yet but you can hear the sound of armour beyond a wall........ this game is gonna rock............. if you have your x-box connected to the hi-fi with dolby digital your in for a treat, the sounds are fantastic!!!!!!!

I hadn't realize this was out yet...anyway, I played the demo, and unless they've greatly improved upon the game from the demo...then I must say that I wasn't impressed at all. For starters, it seems that they've taken the original game, added some color to it, and simply changed the targetting reticle. Now I was a huge fan of the first one, so don't get me wrong, I just don't see any huge improvement. The lock on targetting system is virtually the same, you get locked onto an enemy that isn't a threat while the one you want in your sights, isn't, and he's filling you with lead. Also the friendly AI is well, guys running into walls, but I haven't really spent enough time to really notice the AI, but I'm still not impressed with the previous points. Oh well, I'll wait for it to drop in price!

Thanks for the info Ianford. Did you play the Xbox version Razurkiel? I had no complaints about the first one with its targeting, it also had manual targeting if I remember correctly, and running and gunning I often had the right target with auto targeting.

It could be that the demo isn't as good as the final product, I hated the Splinter Cell demo, thought it was choppy. I didn't buy the first Conflict Desert Storm, but it was a good rental, the city fighting was pretty cool.

It was the Xbox version, though I will rent it when it gets here, then I'll be able to really decide. Again, I was a huge fan of the first, I truly hope that this one at least equals the first!

The game hasn't changed much from the original, only a few minor things like detail more guns AI, but this game still kicks ass although a little short on levels compared to CD1, but i always remeber thinking i hope this isnt the last sheet i dont want it to end, and it hasnt because as you can see the cd2 is back. The next game lined up in the series is based in vietnam and should make some interesting game play although its not out till july 2004, have to settle for the superb rainbow 6 due out this month cant wait, ive played the unfinished demo and that alone was perfection.

Well, I'll probably end up geting it, used. But I agree, Rainbow Six 3 will rule, the demo was awesome. I was like throwing flashbang grenades just for the fun of it...felt like my college days!!!

well got CDS2 yesterday and really it plays like the first one, just more weapons, vehicles etc. don't mean I won't play it and complete it though

also comparing CDS2 and RS3(Rainbow Six 3) RS3 rules by far but CDS2 ain't trailing far behind IMO
