After a very long wait, anxious gamers will finally get to play Super Mario Bros. 3 on their Game Boy Advances in the form of Super Mario Advance 4, due out on September 14. Super Mario Bros. 3 is widely hailed as the best Mario game ever made, so this should make handheld gamers very happy.

Super Mario Bros. 3 was the first Mario game to let you use a large number of different power-ups. The raccoon suit could let you fly for a brief period, while the frog suit let you jump farther and swim better. It was also the first game to pit you against Bowser's unruly children. The GBA version will contain a few enhancements to the original game, such as e-Reader options that will unlock new levels and features. Like all the other Mario Advance games, the fourth installment will also contain the original Mario Bros., which you can play solo or with friends.

I can´t stop thinkin about ((nintendo)) rippin of a leg here. They could have, instead of seperate games, just re-released Mario all-stars!

I think the e-reader compatibility will be awesome!!!I was gonna sell my e-Reder,but I'm keeping it because of this reason.I read that you can get power-ups,new levels,and help from the pros.!

Dude Mario All-Stars would own.

The only thing I don't like is the e-reader thing. The only way yo unlock speacial stages is to have an e-reader. Sadly, I don't have one.

I so remember that stage. It was fun.



wtf, I'm guessing this is for the extra stuff on E-reader. Too bad I don't have one. Bad side of the game for me.

i went to Gamestop and played the demo

controls
A-jump
B-hold to run/fire balls/hammers
L-item screen on map
R-e-reader download on map

modes:some bad news here
Mario Mode-basically you just play as Mario
Mario&Luigi-the bad news, unlike SMA2, you cant switch the bros whenever you want with R, instead they automatically switch every level, they also have seperate item storage, each bro also has their own number of lives but they can give each other lives

-there are some small level changes in the game
for example, in the first level, when you get the first mushroom, there is a pipe that used to have a fire spitting pirahhna plant, now its just a biting one

at least they can share lives, i liked that when i was playing super mario world for the snes.

Nintendo has released there SMA4 website! It features all sorts of info on power-ups and map items that are available in the game. it also features e-Reader info which is at the bottom of this post. (the site can be found using this link.

Enemies-it was said that e-Reader can unlock enemies from other games like SMW's Chargin' Chuck and Rip Van Fish

plenty of cool bonuses(like caped mario)
brand new levels or levels from other mario games
2 sets of cards when the game comes out, each has 8 item cards, 5 level cards, and 5 demo cards
-the game comes with two cards
one is the power card for Racoon Mario's Leaf in the item inventory
another is for the level Wild Ride In the Sky
Possibilites
-with the e-Reader ability, Nintendo could create an entire game called Mario Bros. 3e
-known e-Reader levels features a level where Mario can pick vegetables from SMB2 and fights enemies like Chargin' Chuck and Rip Van Fish from SMW and levels where he has power ups like the feather from SMW

Mushroom-everyone knows this, the Mushroom lets Mario transform into his bigger and more will known form
Power Flower-another classic, this plant gives Mario a white shirt and cap and stylin' red overalls and lets him shoot powerful fireballs
Racoon Leaf-this strange leaf gives mario a racoon tail to whack enemies and fly and racoon ears
P-Wing-same as Racoon Leaf but Mario need not run to fly
Hammer Suit-this suit gives Mario the dudes of Bowser's elite force, and the hammers they use as throwing weapons, a very powerful weapon
Hammer-the hammer lets Mario bust down boulders on the map to acces shortcuts
Lakitu's Cloud-this handy cloud lets Mario pass over a level on the mao
Anchore-this metal ship piece can hold Bowser's airship in place keeping Mario from having to treck through a world
Starman-the mystic starman makes Mairo shine with energy that makes him run faster, flip through air, and temperarily invunrable
Froggy Suit-Mario dons the outfit of a frog? yup in this suit Mario swims better in all aspects and hops on land
Tanooki Suit-this suit gives Mario a full Racoon Suit that only exposes his face, when down and B are pressed simotaneously, Mario transforms into an indestructable statue for as long as down is held after that
Magic Whistle-a rare item that is hard to find, it can warp Mario to the exclusive World 9, Pipe Zone so Mario can warp to any world, however he can only warp to specific worlds depending on what world he is in
World1=access for 2-4
World 2-4=access for 5-7
World 7=access to World 8
Pipe Zone-first row= second row
second row=third row
Boomerang Mario-very little is known about this power-up except that Mario throws a boomerang like Bowser's Elite Troops and this power is only available in an e-Reader level
