ive never played a metroid game except for Prime for an hour or so just to try it. i want to get ZM and Fusion but which should i get first. based on reviews ZM is Samus's first mission and Fusion takes place after? if im correct? so i should get ZM first to get the whole story kinda?

It goes... Metroid Zero Mission, Metroid 2 Return Of Samus, Super Metroid, Metroid Prime, Metroid Fusion I think.

Personally I thought it was Metroid (MZM), Metroid 2: Returns of Samus, Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2 Echoes, Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion.
Honestly you dont need to play any of the first games since each of them are like a story in themselves. Not really continuations but more like that they have the same characters IMO. -------------------

no. mp:h is not a remake of anything. and it fits into the metroid timeline the same way that metroid pinball does.....in other words it doesnt. mp:h doesnt play like any other metroid game. it focuses on the multiplayer function even in single player mode

Dont listen to him about Fusion, buy it, its good, il admit not better than Zero Mission but but still good. The best Metroid IMO though is Super Metroid, which is on the super nintendo. It will be hell to look for it but if u find it youl love it, I was stupid enough to sell it.

I think fusion was better. It was a change from finding everything by yourself. But it would be better to get zero mission first because it is like a remake of the first one. Then you should get fusion.
