TW 2004 General Discussion {Falling below par} |
|
Evening, fellas. Seeing as how this forum has really started to hit it off, I figured we all probably have a few non-threadworthy things we'd like to get off our chests.
If you have something to say, say it here! Consider this a collaboration of mutual base interests as we strive to maintain something more than a constant efflux of spamination. Or, just post all random thoughts here. On a side note, I thought I had a copy of this secured for rental until I drive 15 minutes to the one video store who has a copy in stock to find out it's an old random copy of 2001 labeled wrong. >.< If only I had a job and subsequent sufficient money to just buy the damn game... 2001!
Still got my copy of that somewhere. I have TW 2001, 2003 and 2004, for some reason I missed out on 2002. Was it any good? Nice idea by the way Whitecloak.

I only have 2003 and 2004, ohh and I got PGA Tour '96 for PC, back when it wasn't called Tiger Woods yet. I probably won't get 2005 unless there are more major changes.

2002 was good, but not good enough to be worth keeping me from renting 2004.
I rented 2002 in November 2001. I played it one day. Lost it. Found it a month later. Returned it and refused the $50 in late fees. I finally find a copy of 2004 at a Movie Gallery today--the one with the late fees. Since I couldn't afford to pay them, I ironically couldn't rent the only copy because of a previous version 2 years ago. *sigh*

I MOTHER EARTH, I echo your point about whether or not to get 2005, you have to wonder how far they can take the game and whether than can add enough features to make it different.

quote Nuggy Could this be one of the reasons why the UK got the *shaft with online play? *haa, haa, I made a pun... Anyway, if the UK offered online play with TW 2005, (which I'm sure it will) it might be a big contributing factor to consumer purchases. ------------------- Membership has it's privileges. Ahhh yes nice point.
Now would I buy TW 2005 if the only difference was that it was online..... a good question indeed.

Tiger Woods has offered a lot more new features each year than the football franchises, anyway. OOOHHHH, better crowds. OOOHHHH. New rosters. Big freakin' whoop.

Yes, one thing is for certain... Tiger Woods 2004 is way deep in gameplay.
Hours to complete and re-play value are huge. Personally, Sports genre games are my favorite, with EA as my favorite developer. I've played this game every day since I got it, about two weeks now, and there are tons of options and modes that I haven't even tried. EA is really thinking outside the box with new additions like the RTE Events. I bet most of us thought that TW 2003 could not get any better, and we may or may not purchase TW 2004? If for no other reason, a lot of people like myself just like the whole process of starting a new game from the beginning and taking it to the end. Even if several of the challenges are very similar to the previous years version. ------------------- Membership has it's privileges. Do you have what it takes?

EA is my favorite sports developer too. I prefer their version of just about every sports game except maybe NBA Live. But I'd rather be playin Football, Hockey, or Golf anyways.
I don't think I'll get next years verion of Tiger Woods. I can't imagine there being any huge improvements or upgrades so I might just hold off for another year. I might change my mind though if EA surprises us with some cool new features that we didn't expect. -------------------

One thing that was mentioned in the comments of the critics Wo posted up in the other thread was the amount of courses they have added. Hopefully they will keep it that way and keep on adding new ones.

Some of you guys keep saying you won't get next years version, but we have no idea what's going to be on it! There are tons of things they could add, such as new REAL courses, new REAL players, better graphics (the crowds still suck, and the player models could still use some improvement), and the list goes on.
And the PS3 could come out in 2005 for Tiger 2006...now THAT would be a great release game.

Damn, you're right.
I keep forgetting about PS3. That puts a whole new spin on things. ------------------- Membership has it's privileges. Do you have what it takes?

are you getting the ps3? i have a strong feeling i will, however reluctantly! i hate the damn technological winds of change, there's always going to be a better verion of everything, usually within one or two years after you bought the - what used to be- the best console on the market. soon the ps2 will looked upon the same way i, and probably you too, look upon the old psone " worthless graphics and lousy games... it's a bit scary, really -how much longer can games keep getting better and the consoles more powerful? within the not so distant future i bet we'll be playing real people - films filmed in infinitely many angles and with a grotesquely vast vocabulary and an endless amount of facial expressions for variable situations.......
