I heard that if you get every costume then you unlock some images. I don't have dead or alive 3. Does that mean that I can't unlock any of the secrets required from getting all costumes?

just borrow it off someone or get it from a video rental store.

how do you get all of the costumes? sorry for being little bit noobish but iv played this game for like a hundred times and still nothing

I'm assuming you're playing DOA Ultimate for XBOX,
Look at the cheats by Neoseeker, I did, some way down the page you'll find the answer to costumes.
Story mode is the quickest to Tengu, beat him and the next costume will be yours

There is a certain trick to it: If you beat the game in Story or Time Attack mode with a character but don't get a costume, you need to win on a higher difficulty level (there's a list for each character in each FAQ I did for them). Playing on Hard is the toughest way to do it, but it's the guaranteed way to do it. Alternate method is to collect all 66 items in Survival Mode.

Easy, Normal, & Hard refer to costumes unlocked by difficulty level. Of course you can always play on higher levels to unlock Easy & Normal costumes. Except for those where it says Time Attack Only, you can do it in either Story or Time Attack (for T.A. you may change some settings but DO NOT change number of rounds).
As for unlocking stuff, what you unlock are the following: CG Gallery (images from DOA Xtreme Beach Volleyball), the DOA 3 Booster Disc (extra costumes for DOA 3-you need just under 3000 blocks of Hard Disk space), and the G4 "Icons" Dead Or Alive TV show (only a few brief clips of it, not the entire show; the DVD Playback Kit is not required to view).

Why can't Tecmo make the Dead Or Alive games with everything unlocked. I heard that the European versions of Dead Or Alive
comes with everything unlocked.

Then there would be little point to re-playing the game. Unlocking stuff is half the fun!

maybe in rpg games or some shooting games where you can get crazy weapons and stuff. some of those costumes pissed me off because some of them varied very little, like most of kasumi's and leifang's costumes. but I admit, hayabusa's final 2 are worth it! the coolest looking ones in the game.

Oh shut up advent kit .you are wrong there is an unlockable cg gallery and in another forumn you said each DOA character had only 1 costume each!!! so you obviously dont have the game!!!!

It's true. You unlock a huge image gallery of hi-res XBV images (somewhere around 200 images), part of the G4 "Icons: Dead Or Alive" special (only a few minutes' worth, not the entire show), and the DOA3 Booster Disc content, which adds extra costumes for all characters in DOA3 (requires about 3000 blocks free space and a DOA3 save file).

no i ment in doa ultimate since it comes with 2 discs i ment the one that has horrible graphics
