OK I am in the Marsh Refinery I have just shot marsh and saved Agent Hoover from sure death in the vat of molten gold. I have head back out the correct way and made my way to the electrolysis room. Marsh has just knocked me out and taken all of my guns. and then he turns on the machine and the huge eye-stalk comes out of the tank. looking around the room i see the button that Marsh pushed to start the vat before he ran off. I also see the housing for a fuse that blew out after he triggered the device.

The only way I can think to move on to the next area is I need a fuse to get the machine started. looking around the area where I am there is no way to get out. All the items in my inventory of bullets / the brooch / the tome from store safe / a shot of morphine does no good.

Any hints on what I need to do to get past this monstrosity?

I searched the area before letting Marsh knock me out again and I can find no way past the big monster. I have no weapons.

Hide behind the crates for a bit... The ones where he says it looks like a good place to hide, then run down the stairs. If you've hidden long enough, you can slip past it.
