USB hub works as a splitter? |
|
I got the assumption that a USB hub would work as a splitter of some sort. I purchased a hub and hooked up my external HDD to my PC and the other end to my X360. I figured I could add files and watch them on the 360 without taking the cord out and keep going back and forth.
So am I wrong? or this ain't possible? Thanks. | |

How did you manage to hook it up to the PC AND xbox at the same time? That wont work anyways, because any USB device can only be plugged in and controlled by one device at a time. If you plug the hard drive into a computer and xbox, they will both try and control it at the same time, but both will fail.

By using the hub. I plugged the HDD in one end, and used a male-to-male cable in the other into the 360. I figured it would work. I just ordered a USB share switch. It's supposed to make it work the way I want it to.

Won't work. The USB hub was meant as a way to make 1 USB connection into many, not as a way to do what you are trying.
