Installing a game via network?

Is there anyway i can install a game via network?

Trying to install oblivion but gaming pc has no dvd drive lol

Usually i transfer them to new pc as a iso over the network and use vcd to mount them but securom is thwarting my attempts so is there anyway i can install from the real dvd on my computer through the laptop on the network?

re: Installing a game via network?

Yeah, you can do this I believe. On the computer with the DVD drive you need to have it set to share. So, go to My Computer/Computer, right click on the DVD drive, and click Properties. Move over to the Sharing tab and click Advanced sharing. Check "Share this drive", and give it a small name like "DVD Drive". You want to make sure that "Everyone" has "Read" permissions to the share as well.

You can see my step process below on a Windows 7 operating system. Vista should be the same, but I'm not quite sure about XP.

re: Installing a game via network?

The CD/DVD can be shared, but the install might be a problem due to the SecuROM.

No gaming right now... my T42 video is toast (almost)... I'm getting zig zaggy lines all over the place.
