Im new to zero hour and looking for basic tips and strategies to help me begin with.

well there is forums all over for basic strategy it would help if i new what you liked as in team because im good with all but lets begin with tactics for all teams

usa- build an army of 15 palidin tanks or 20 crusador tanks backed up by 5-10 avengers

china-
build 6-12 overlords equally with the gattling gun healing tower and bunker eh 3 with gatting gun 3 with healing tower and 3 with buker

gla build a line of tunnel network and stinger defence then build an army of 30+ quad cannons if versing china or usa factions if versing gla factions build 30+scorpians

usa superweapon genral vuild a fairly big line of emp patriots use aurora alpha bombers to take out enemy super weapons and build lots of superweapons of your own

usa laser genral build a line of laser defence build 20-30 laser tanks backed up by 5-10 avengers

usa air force genrals- build alpha bombers to take out enemy power then when power is down send in kind raptors combat chinnoks with pathfinders and missle defenders in them and humvees

china tank same as china build 6-10 emperor overlords all upgraded with gattling guns

china nuke turtle a bit build a few nukes build a fair army of overlords and battle masters backed up buy 15 gattling tanks

china infantry genral build lots of assault troop crawlers and also build lots of rocket men from the barracks

gla toxin genral same as gla

gla demolition genral same as gla except get the upgrade to demolish your own units spawn 16 rebels in there base detnate them and it powerful enough to take out a nuke

gla stealth general use quad cannons backed up with rocket buggies

sorry it was brief but i got so much strategies it would take days to explain the tricks and tips

lol yeah i was thinking 'umm...they're a bit of money....acutally quite alot'

1. Build some units to protect your base until you build defences
2. Build a lot of defences; if you're playing as GLA or China, make sure that some builders are near behind defences (to repair them automatically). Try to make your defences more "untouchable" (placing Avengers, artillery to guard, or those Chinese tanks that repel missiles; you can place Stealth Fighters to guard in front of your line of defence for countering artillery attacks)
3. Have strong AA defence for stopping enemy planes reaching your base (like parachutes, carpet bombers etc.)
- You should still have some units around your base, but don't waste your money on an army yet.
4. Build structures/units that constantly produce money (Supply Drop Zones, Black Markets or Hackers) to ensure a good money income when your supplies go empty.
5. Build a super-weapon. If you can build more than 1, build 2 of them, and try doing that before the enemy builds his (so you can fire the 2 super-weapons to destroy his).
6. Then mass an army for assault. Use super-weapons to destroy opponent's defences and/or power plants.

If you're playing on HARD, it's easiest playing as Laser General vs. Infantry General -> lasers are pretty good vs. infantry and later can you build Pathfinders...

It works vs. CPU, but not so good vs. human opponents, though...
Uh, I think I'm done now. That's the way I do it vs. CPUs, but you can always make your own tactics.
