you can buy a controller that hooks up to the main wii remote which you then use to play the game, before downloading the game with some wii points you can see what controllers the game can use.
That is the one I use to play Snes games with, you can see the cord plugging into the wii remote. ------------------- ![]()

quote Jackal_ManOh, I see. Very cool. (Thanks again, Jackal-- you were quick to help before, too). But it still is a controller; and that does make sense. I just pictured the Wii system as always using . . . er . . . some sort of mat or sensors that communicated your motions to the game. I thought the way it was designed, players were supposed to stand and move around, simulating the movements you want the game character to perform in the game. LOL. (At least I admitted I am totally ignorant of all this). I could swear someone told me what divides Wii from other gaming systems is that players could be offered a fun sort of exercise while playing video games . . . ? So I was picturing some sort of mat on the floor with symbols for left, right, up, down, run, jump. Thought that sounded a pretty freakin' fun version of SMW; but was rather confused about how your motions might indicate when you want your Mario to get on Yoshi and fly . . . and move in the air! But I'm realizing, now, it'd be extremely difficult to move your whole body with a speed and agility that could prove as effective as the motions of your fingers on a controller! Fasinating to try, though. But damnably exhausting! (Hehehe. And, like, in Super Mario Bros' 2, when you make the characters dig in the sand and pick up the potion and keys and stuff; that'd be interesting in the type of virtual Wii realm I was imagining)!

well they do have mats, pretty sure I saw it at wal-mart anyways, doubt it is used exactly like you said though, and the wii does use the motion sensor in quite a few games, but for the snes game downloads and the other downloads it will mostly be none motion sensor. different downloads different controllers, usually best to check if you have the right controller before downloading
I have tried bowling, boxing, baseball, tennis with the wii remote since the wii came with a disc with a few small games on it, not a big fan of it tbh ------------------- ![]()

To be perfectly honest, I hate the Wii sensor controls. To have a game based on movement seems somewhat pointless to me. I play games to relax, not to work out.

You're strangly right. The Wii is a fail. Who needs to play fake golf when you can play real golf?

It's like Guitar Hero in my opinion. Why click little buttons when you can learn real guitar? Guitar Hero doesn't give you any skills that count for anything. It might increase your ability to keep in time, but that's about it.

quote JesusGonna disagree with you there. Guitar Hero's a game, whereas playing an instrument is a form of art. To add, some people might not have the patience or talent to learn to play a real instrument while playing a game is simple. The same argument you have for Guitar Hero, I have for Sports games. I'll never understand, but people have their reasons, I suppose. [For the record, I play Guitar Hero and am learning to play guitar.] Generally, the Wii is incredibly silly. But the one game which has motion sensor controls that I enjoyed was Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.

Same here, also playing guitar. Just learning, I'm taking a break, marching band started.
Also, even if you learn guitar, what if you want to play a song, but don't know anyone else who can play it? -------------------

That's fair enough, but I still believe Guitar Hero to be a more boring way of playing guitar. I play my xbox 360 anyway. The only game I ever actually play is Halo 3, and I don't even own it. Haha.

Well, it's not like in real life you can jam with Ozzy Osbourne, Sting, and the drummer from what I think is Pearl Jam at the same time, then suicide jump together and play for eternity on a winged Viking ship pulled by eagles (the bird, not the band).

How dare a supermod close down the wish thread! How would an anime nerd who doesn't take part in the forum know what's good for it?!

True. You can only have so many game threads. At our rate of popularity, we're not allowed to have ay more than 0.
You know what Neoseeker needs? Neoseeker needs a forum entirely for game threads. That way people stop putting them in forums and having them shut down. I mean, games based on the video game of the forum would probably be allowed, but with a game thread, you'd rarely get in trouble for being off-topic. -------------------
