I'd have to say Magus or Lavos.
I once had to fight Magus like three times in a row cuz I kept losing Lavos too cuz its takes FOREVER to beat him! ------------------- [Bowser Shrine: Bowser Fans Unite!] quote A Haunting

Lavos would have to be the hardest to fight. All the other bosses didn't seem to be overly difficult although I had to fight a few of them multiple times.

Might it have been Masamune or was it Gaia? Both are pretty easy when you use multi-target attacks.
In my opinion, the hardest boss was by obvious reasons, Lavos third transformation. I hated when lavos recovered a large quantity of hp. That was so frustrating. Overall, most of the game bosses weren't hard, just entertaining. -------------------

Either Lavos or Spekkio. Lavos is just hard, and Spekkio is just a pain in the ass!

I;m not sure what boss was hardest, It has been a little while since I played the game, when I first played the game I found Lavos to be difficult, but when I played it last year lavos was more annoying with the healings then anything, he was easy to get down in health but difficult to keep him down in health

I know which one is the hardest.
What im about to say may shock some of you, but I was young and dangerous. So, when I first played CT it was on an emulator. (yes, im ashamed) Anyway, the first encounter with Lavo's I saved over every savestate at the start of the battle, and then seconds later realized that at that point in the game its IMPOSSIBLE to beat lavos, and of course had to start over... I guess it would be fighting Lavos with just Crono and Marle at the Millenial Fair. The lack of a third character pressures you to be quicker and leaves you with almost no ratio for error when it comes to using turns wisely.

re: the hardest boss |
quote EpochROFL Epoch I can share a similar story but it has to do with a playstation game. A long time ago, about 7 years ago, I bought Yu-Gi-Oh! FORBIDDEN MEMORIES for the PS1 console. AT that time, I had a PS2 and since I was told that PS1 games can be played on a PS2, I gave the game a shot and started to play it. What I wasn't told is that PS2 memories don't save PS1 game datas which frustrated me since my parents weren't willing to buy me more game related items until next report card. (They bought me stuff everytime I achieved good grades.) So since I was so desperate to play through the game, I couldn't wait to buy a PS1 memory and decided to go through the game... I went really far, about 7 hours of gameplay with no save points. I didn't turn off my PS2 overnight and started to play the game the next day when arriving from school. I played for about 5 hours until I lost a duel against one of the harder characters... I felt frustrated but actually played the game again and again, until my parents bought me a PS1 memory stick. Good times. -------------------
