I'm using the Windows version of Safari (its faster than Firefox for my needs). Whenever I have MySpace open, Safari things it to be a good idea to just completely freeze and not respond. Without switching browsers, any idea on how to fix this?

this happens on the Mac OS Safari too. I think it's related to the ads on MySpace, and it isn't a fault of Safari either- I've noticed Firefox hanging on MySpace pages as well.

Does it only happen when viewing peoples profiles? From what I've seen of myspace, people like to fill it up with extra usless crap, so that could be overwhelming safari causing it to lock up.

Is this Safari 3? Safari 3 is kinda slow in streaming videos. Since myspace has a lot of video content, maybe that's the cause of the crash. Turn-off your flash plug-in (preferences) then go to myspace.

If the ads are the culprit, you can easily filter them using adblock for safari

Oops, lord monkey forgot you're using windows safari. The adblock is only for mac users. Keyzer you can use it.

thanks but no thanks - I'm using Camino at the moment which seems to work a lot better for MySpace. I'll keep that in mind however.

btw, lord monkey you can try safari 4 developer preview. It has a new javascript engine that fixes the streaming problems. You can get it at http://connect.apple.com. You need to register first. It's not final so expect some bugs.
