Im trying to make an amv for youtube but i cant get any videos from youtube to download onto my computer, and when i do how can i get thme edited so i dont have to use the whole video? please help its very important!

get firefox, and download this add on called unplug. all files on youtube are .flv, so make sure you rename all downloaded files with that extension. from there, you will need some kind of program that can edit flv files. not sure if there are any though, so you will have to find a program that will convert flv into an extension that can be edited.

You'll have to use an older version of FireFox rather than the current v3.0 to use the UnPlug add-on.

Safari downloads videos rather easily. load up Youtube, then go to Window, and then to Activity. then from there you can just double click the video and download it straight from there.

Ok so how can get videos off of a dvd, then edit that?

You can rip VOB to an editable format using SUPER

I note that because it's free and it'll convert pretty much anything you can throw at it into anything you need.

VOB file editing can take quite a while and a lot of disc space. Converting takes time but at least it's a smaller file size especially if its just for youtube.

i dont know what it is about super, but ive never seemed to have had it work the way i wanted it to. the final product after conversion is always of a much lower quality, even though i havent set any options to lower quality.
