I'm getting one of those top-notch college laptops, the brand of laptops that are the smallest. Most likely they will always be in top-notch quality and version.

quote Tio MedoIt's posts like this that make me want to cry. Did you buy Vista directly after its release date then expect everything to run fine? it was a completely different code that was a long term improvement. People who say HORP DE DORP XP IS BETAH IT HAS LES ERRAHS AND IS FOSTTTTT need to understand Vista is for higher end systems, it actually utilises RAM where XP would not know how to use it and if you want to have more than 3GB of RAM good luck because 64 bit XP is like the child at school whose parents are on the dole and therefore he wears socks for shoes. I've used both systems thoroughly and Vista is much much more stable than XP. It's a kick in the nuts to see a giant leap forward from Microsoft constnatly bashed by people who have no idea what they're on about. ------------------- ![]()

Yeah. Windows XP was great if you had 3gb of RAM or less. 64 bit was terrible though, virtually nothing supported it. Vista wasn't all bad however, sure it had it's flaws but nothing so bad it was unusable. 64 bit was supported too. It was a memory hog however.
Now Windows 7 I think is just excellent. It's stylish like Vista (in my opinion. If you think 7's taskbar is too big and clunky, right click on it and select "use small icons". You can download a Vista theme if you want), and memory usage is MUCH better. My memory usage sits at 18% at the desktop after optimizing my services. I have 4gb of RAM.

re: Windows 7 |
quote VendettaVista actually utilized the memory though where XP did not. Also the taskbar is mended the most part if you disable combine and turn on small icons, but I still feel slightly irritated by things like the enlarged thumbnails and really I just think it looked a lot worse than Vista. Nothing major, but, eh. Just eh. Also I don't really understand how people can like having combine on. If you have things like multiple browser windows open and IM conversations on it suddenly takes so much longer to find the one you want. Also I'm not sure if this happens on all W7 releases or not it doesn't happen on mine but mine is build 7600, but in this one if a icon has more than one window open clicking on the icon in the taskbar doesn't minimize it, it brings up the list of windows; I find that really annoying. ------------------- ![]()

I liked how Windows 7 didn't come with a bunch of shit pre-installed. I used to have 70 processes of random shit running with Vista, but now with 7, I only got like 35. I got it for free btw.

Lol, pirated RC version? It was free in the first place; not what most would call pirated.

Running fine for me even after I had to upgrade from Vista
Although I never had a problem with Vista, I had it for let's say ~4 months, and I don't see what all the hate was about. ------------------- "When all other means have failed, It is then lawful to take to the sword" *bleep* the Indian Government
