re: Technical Help Thread |

I'm thinking of upgrading my computer so I can get better proformance out of this game. Should I upgrade or just buy a whole new PC?
The PC I'm using now is an HP which I bought new in August 2002: 2.26GHZ Pentium 4 512MB of RAM NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 420 (definetly need an upgrade there) and about 21.7 gb of hard drive space left. Should I upgrade or buy new? ------------------- | |

I'm going to get a new graphics card then, and probably some more RAM. My friend GM says I should go with the ATI Radeon 9800 XT 256MB DDR AGP Graphics Card, but I've heard mixed opinions on how the ATI's work with Battlefield games, saying that BF works better with NVIDIA cards, so it's ether the 9800 or the NVIDIA Geforce FX5900 card. Can anybody recommend which card I should get? And is there any requirments on getting a new card I should be aware of?

I'd get some more RAM first, then if you can get a better video card. Till then lower the settings and resolution if you haven't already. Also while on your desktop press ctrl+alt+delete and shut down any programs that are running in the backround that you don't need running.

Hmm, have you tried another method of playing online, like Gamespy or Xfire? I can't really help because I have also had problems with the in-game server browser, so I don't use them. I just use Gamespy.
