2001 NFP Grand Final-Widnes v Oldham! After a close first half, widnes came out after the break to comfortably win! I was at the game and the atmosphere was electric!!!
I can't remember the attendance but the score was 24-14 and it was at Spotland (Rochdale).
Most exciting widnes match of the whole season!!! Ronaldo, do you sit in the south stand?

I know! I feel embarrassed to shout! Its getting a bit better, theres about 10 of us around me that shout frequently, but then all the snobs dont! I prefer the reserved seating too.

re: Favourite moment(s) in rugby league

Another one of my favourite moments was when the Australian Kangaroos came away winning all games on the tour of GB in 1982 and 86. I was 0 and 4 years old when this happened, but I have the videos at home and it was great to see how Australia dominated GB in this period. Greats such as Mal Meninga, Wally Lewis, Gene Miles, Garry Jack, Steve Roach and Brett Kenny featured in these historical tours. This feat will continue to live on in the hearts of many rugby league lovers, no matter if you are an australian or great britain fan.

re: Favourite moment(s) in rugby league

Ive never seen a GB side win a series against Australia, and although I never see the games on TV, it would be a great moment if GB could actually overturn Australia in a series.

re: Favourite moment(s) in rugby league

well GB havent beaten Australia in a series since the late sixties,so the chance of actually seeing GB doing it, is remote. I have a video called " Thats rugby league", which documents the game in Australia over the last 100 years. You get an insight into how the game has progressed in Australia and you get to see footage of some of the kangaroo tours as wellIts a great video if you like history.

re: Favourite moment(s) in rugby league

Mine was is in 2000 (i think) and it was the Super League Grand Final. It was my first St. Helens game (i was 7 i think) as i don't live near Knowlsely Road. It was us V Wigan and we won. It was a bit ago but i know in the end we trashed them and i was overjoyed.

Two years later at the next grand final we reached i was there again and this time it was a lot closer. We were playing Bradford. Both half's started Bradfords way and with 15 minutes to go it was 18-16 to the Bulls fortunately Bradford conceded a penalty and Long kicked it over. With a few seconds remaing Long drop kicked and we had won 19-18. I enjoyed this one more as it was a lot closer and i was older and able to see the quality football played.

did Widnes really deserve to lose the other night or were they just unlucky? How did they match up?

re: Favourite moment(s) in rugby league

They did deserve to lose, but they had a 10 minute period right after half time that would have turned the game. 26-2 at half time, Millard went over under the posts for 26-8 and the Widnes players seemed a little more confident. They were making breaks, and then Finnigan got a run through with only the full back to beat. He had support on his left, but Matthew Whitaker was going a bit too fast and the pass went behind him, just yards from the try line. If they had gone over, it would have been 26-14 and I imagine Castleford would start worrying.

But in the end, Widnes were shocking. Cas wanted it more, and deserved the two points

Yeah. It was really special and i loved it. It was pretty easy to get there though as i live close by to Manchester. And your right at this rate you'll be 70 odd the next time u reach a final (no offence)
