Are you sure the motherboard can support that much RAM? -------------------

Try Taking out the little Silver Battery. unpluging the power cord, wait like 5-10 mins, put it back in, and start up. I just had a problem like that. I had one beep, But i wouldnt even get display, so i jsut took out that battery and it loaded up defaults ------------------- Asus P5B Deluxe Wifi AP Core 2 Duo e6400 @ 400x8 1.30vcore 4x1GB G.Skill PC2-6400 Geforce 8800GTX 4x250GB Intel matrix: 4x50 Raid 0, 4x200 Raid 1+0 OCZ Powerstream 600w

I removed the battery as suggested. It did allow me to load the defaults when I tried to reboot later. the results were the same. I finally switched the sata cables from the sata connectors to the sata RAID connectors. When I booted, it was happy that I had devices connected and wanted me to configure the array.

Finally got the pc to boot successfully. I set the ide config to enhanced mode, enhanced mode support on to p-ata and config s-ata as raid to no. Onboard device config, onbo promise controller operating mode to ide. I was able to boot with the xp cd and do a repair install. the only thing left is to get it to recognize my modem. Network connections thinks I have a high speed lan and won't let me make a modem connection. I will verify that I have the onboard lan disabled.

quote garydonaOh goodness, yes I would not advise using an OS install from such a different configuration. It's generally a good idea to do a fresh install anyway even if you're not making such a drastic change as switching from AMD to Intel + different motherboard (obviously, now that Socket 7 isn't really used these days)...

I just purchased, and installed a new system and I'm having the same problem. No device detected, and BIOS not installed even though it is. Everything is working, I even installed XP temp. and I am currently using it to write this message, so I'm assuming these errors have something to do with the RAID configuration. I have it set in BIOS for IDE not RAID but still get the errors. Can you please explain in detail how to fix this problem, its quite anoying!

This isnt a fault. This is the promise RAID chip enabled in BIOS. Unless you have to sata drives connected to the raid 1 and 2 sata ports supported by the Promise chip then on bootup it will search for drives connected not see any and come up with the message above. Either disable the Promise chip in the bios (and you wont see the message) or add 2 sata drives to the right connections and configure the sata (you'll get the searching message but in this case it will find the drives and load the bios.)
