Large monster bones don't start appearing until some monsters/quests in the desert area if I recall. It's been a long time, but I believe that is where they start to drop.

I do believe you may get like one or 3 for the quest. It's such a hard quest when you first get it that it's almost not worth the trouble however.

if u need lg,med monster bones ask ppl if they would post ian/los/grav,grav gives most lg bones.
