I've got pretty much full, damn can't remember what its called.."water wyvern" armor, Minus the helm. I've also got the great serpentblade. I can't seem to beat rathalos. Im sure its because I don't have an effective strategy. As soon as I start the Mission I try to get him in all of my traps before I start lettin him have it with my Sword. I've also tried the Flash bomb technique. Can Someone give me a precise strategy for kicking his ass? Also is it cause I've got the wrong armor?...

Full Plesioth is fine. Great Serpentblade is the highest level Serpent Blade, correct? I can't remember. Your sword is fine, though it could be better. The only advice I can really give you is to learn his patterns and know when to attack. If I were you, I'd focus on his tail first off. Maybe Flash Bomb him and while he's stunned go for the tail until it's off. Stand on the opposite side of it though, as he may do a swipe attack and smash you with it.

Once the tail is gone, if I were you I'd aim at either the head or just the body. Do you know his patterns? If he turns around slowly, he'll be shooting a fireball, and I'd go charging at his head (from the side to dodge the fireball) so that as soon as you make contact he'll flinch and you can get a few easy shots in. Roll out of the way. Don't go crazy all-out attacking. You'll want to know when to stop. Rinse, repeat.

Also, if he's flying, or when he's about to land, stand in his shadow and start swinging your sword. With a Great Sword, swinging it negates the wind (the wind that pushes you back when you get near them when they're landing) so you'll be able to get a few shots as he's landing. Also, if you can time it correctly you can upswing and knock him out of the air.

You really help out. I needed a better strategy...I'll give it a try. What sword is better than great serpentblade offline? Seeing as how I can't get past Los right now, I don't know what better weapon I could get. Maybe other than eager Cleaver...?..

Well, Finally kicked his ass. Had to use a new strat. I would flash bomb him, then while he was all loopy I would set lg.bb by his legs and blowem up with a sm.bb I did that four times, then in area 9 I traped him with a pitfall and layed like 3 or four sm.bb at his head. then in area 4 he did the "im ganna fly around and annoy the shit outta ya" technique. But eventually he started limping and I whipped his ass in the cave. thnx for the Help. Greatly appreciated.

wth rathalos is befor plesioth dont you mean rathian its same as rathalos only less annoying...

hey xion, you can always pick a new weapon for fun, but if you want the greatswords i once again think the rathalos firesword is a fun and good one to have. alot of people reccomend the iron sword line for greatswords but i say screw them and go bone blades.
so ill walk you thru it, in order from start to finish.
1) Bone Blade
2) Bone blade+
3) Agito
4) Agito+
5) Dragon Agito
NOW.... you can take 2 paths... one is easier... and the sword is a teeenie bit weaker. or you can work hard... probably get stuck on getting the materials and end up waiting with a crap sword.
so you can make a golem blade.... which i dont reccomend til after you beat the game.
or. you can make the REDWING
6) redwing ( fire element)
7) Rathalos Firesword ....... TADA! my favorite offline sword. has the power of fire imbued... fairly simple to make.... stronger than the great serpentblade (in fact the redwing is as strong as the great serpenblade) and it looks sweet especially when you decide to upgrade your armor to rathalos.

thats my intended path for the easiest sword with the best bang.

Might I recomend hitting him with your sword instead of using sm b bombs while hes in the pit. While a sm bombs does 20 dmg your sword will do about, (im going from the top of my head here) asround 30 - 40 dmg for an sideswing or a upswing, might kill him a lil faster.

Also...what water wyvern you talking about? Chephdrome...or plesioth. If Ples How'd you get it w/o killing los?

i think hes talking bout the plesioth and by rathalos i think he means the rathian

also remember the different resistances for each armor

cut off rathalos/rathian [rathalos is red/rathian green] tail face plate and wing claws

also heres another tip if he/she double turns fast=tackle
double turn slow=fire ball if its rathalos he shoots only one if its raithian she can shoot either 1 or 3 fire balls

If Rathalos does his slow turn he could also do his long-range flight tackle thing. Very annoying if somebody's being slow when you're online and Los decides to go after them

And, demonic, he means Rathalos. Kut-Ku scales and ears can be traded for Plesioth scales and fins to make the armor before fighting the Rathalos.
