I must be an idiot to get stuck on this part of the game. But I really need help. In the haunted ocean house, right where I turn down the hall to room 218 and I'm suppose to jump up the boards to get to the upper floor.... I can't seem to do that. I keep slipping or hitting the ceiling. I have even tried crouching nothing is seeming to help. What am I doing wrong? I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks!

When you first go up the steps you fall through to the basement where you find the means to turn on the power of the building. Then from there, you take the elevator up to the second floor. Most of the action happens up here, where you access different parts of the building. But if you are wanting to go back up the steps, remember that there were two sets of stairs to get up to the second floor. one of the steps does not have the hole. you go up and down that set of steps.
