GTA? |

I have a dreaded feeling that GTA: San Andreas won't be on Gamecube as usual. But why not? Why can't nintendo have the games Xbox and PS2 has? And if the answer is to keep its kiddie image I think I will be sick... -------------------

Sony's gonna take their GTA games to the grave with them. It was a big step letting their old ones be released in a pakage on the Xbox, and not so big a one letting one get released for the GBA, but porting it so soon, and to a system that RockStar hasn't traditionally liked is rather out there. But ya know, we didn't buy GameCubes to drive over hookers. ------------------- ![]()

Also, the controls wont be as good because the cube has 2 buttons less than the PS2, all of which are used in the PS2 version. For the game to be playable with a GCN pad you would need to incoporate some nasty button-combinations to do the functions of the missing buttons. Either that or make some functions only available in the start menu (like the VIEW function, which is currently on the SELECT button). -------------------

Grand Theft Auto should be on the GC. Family-friendly my butt. If games like Thirteen and BloodRayne(1) can be released, no one should make a big deal over this. I actually like running over hookers and crack dealers. It's hilarious to me. ------------------- ~Death Note: Shining New World~

It could work. The PS2 version misused the left stick so that the guy could look from eye view ( -------------------

The shoulder buttons of the GCN are analog, whereby the only analog components of the PS2 controller are the analog sticks, which the GCN has a replacement for. The D pad has 4-way functionality as has been shown with many FPS titles. Here's how it breaks down, barring analog sticks and the Star functions: ------------------- ![]()

quote PrincessRyoAnd also note this is where, in the near future, video gaming dollars will be going to and coming from-the older, more mature gamer such as myself. The average video gamer is now 29 years old (makes us feel really young, eh?) and is more likely to be into games like this. Plus, don't forget Nintendo will have, on it's new DS, a couple of titles that will be pushing the Adults-Only barrier (Crush, Feel The Magic XY/XX). We don't want to be playing some kiddie platformers the rest of our lives. Give us all the blood, violence, and other stuff we want. If you've gotta rate it AO, so be it then-I'm still surprised there aren't any such titles that I'm aware of. (Or just give me DOA:XBV so I can STFU -------------------

quote Sonic FlashEr, the PS2 has a D-pad too dontcherknow. And even still, that doesnt help the matter that X, Square, Triangle, and Circle are pressure-sensitive, while the GC's equivalent buttons (A,B,X,Y) are not. It would be like controlling a car on a PS1 pad, endless tapping to go slowly, where on the PS2 you can just hold the button lightly and you go slow. -------------------

I hadn't heard of many games using the D-pad for anything that wasn't already a function. Those buttons don't seem very analog to me... ------------------- ![]()

I think it's unfair that people who want to play Grand Theft Auto and have only got a Gmaecube can't; it just seems unfair. The good thing is for me it isn't because I've got an Xbox as well as a Gamecube. ------------------- ![]() ![]()

It seems that us GC owners miss out on a lot of quality games because developers don't want to take a risk. I'm sure GTA would sell loads on the GC. Heck, why not just release GTA3? At least we'd get a GTA. However, I wouldn't trade in my GC just to get those games. Mario, Pokemon and Zelda are too playable. -------------------

re: GTA? |

It's a proven fact that mature games don't sell as well on the GameCube as the do on the Playstation 2 and the XBox. Every time a mature game is released on all three consoles, GC sales of that game are always the lowest. And because of that, Rockstar and other developers don't think it wouldn't be worth the trouble to make a GC port. ------------------- ![]()

i doubt we'll ever see a GTA on the cube, rockstar thinks its too risky. if you're really desperate though, just play GTA Advance on the Game Boy Player. -------------------
