Well, i tried to play a game, and it said my memery card needed to be formated. Well, i have my card completely filled with tons of data, and i don't want to lose it all. So is there any way to get my information off my memery card so i don't lose it all, or can i get around the need to format somehow?

Well, try blowing lightly in the connectors in the card and GCN. It could just be a read error and it has misinterpreted it for a format issue.

If that fails try other games. It might be the game.

Can you actually access the card data via the Gamecube's system menu? If you can then you could try and move the data onto a different memeory card if the game is still asking you to format the card.

If all above fail then... you're screwed I guess.

I tried blowing in it and the GC, and it didn't work, and no i can't access it through the system menu. I will try a different game soon, but i don't think that will work.

EDIT: No, it did not work on another game, it said i needed to format it.

Not much else you can do really. You've exhausted the alternatives. Well, did you try Slot B? Might be something wrong with Slot A.

Whatever the case, it sounds like something broke. If both slots still bring up nothing you can try reformatting a few times. If still nothing then I'd guess your card has just given up.

I have tried both slots, i have reformatted many, many times now, and still nothing. Is there really no other way to get the information off or do i just need to get another memory card?

If it's one of those cheapo cards then ditch it or pawn it off and always buy the nintendo ones.......

i dont no... it sounds wierd to me, but heck thats just me. try with someone elses gc, if it dont work, as in the immortal words of Insanity Prevails, you're screwed, i guess. lol!
