Sometimes, it's the CD or DVD burner/player. Not all images placed on the top of CDs/DVDs are balanced. As little weight as the ink may have, if it's thinker on one spot than the rest, it causes the player/burner to wobble a bit. Prevelent mostly in players that spin at or faster than 42X.
It's like having an unbalanced tire that causes your car to vibrate at 40 to 50 mph but not above or below those speeds. Sometimes, the CD player retainer screws get loose. Listen and hold your hand on the front of the player as it spins when you try to install the game. You may have to become clever and figure a way to secure or dampen the vibration. I had this problem installing a Corel CD. What speed does your player spin, and what did your friends spin to? The thing about installing software is that the CD may not play on a different player than the one use to install it with. ------------------- | |

Fancy doesn't mean squat, once you rule out a loose CD/DVD player vibration of the CD/DVD spinning at high speed is the next possibility. If you could get a hold of a slower drive or a burner for a test, (burners tend to be slower)
