And TRB81369, aside from everything else SONY still has the exclusivity on ALL new GTA games. The only reason these two are being released to XBox is because they are so old that in Video Game terms GTA III and Vice City are basically Dinosaurs. San Andreas and then GTA IV will be SONY exclusives.

Oh and before you say I am a SONY fanboy, I have TWO of each of the three console (one for the office and one for home)

All three systems have LOTS of exclusive titles which are what sells the systems. If you would like a list of SONY exclusives then one can be provided, just as a list of Game Cube and XBox exclusives can as well. ALL three are great consoles regardless of what haters of one or more of the systems say.

According to GameSpot, San Andreas is going to DEBUT exclusively on the Playstation 2. To me the word debut makes the exclusivity seem temporary.

Rockstar CANNOT change its mind because they have an exclusivity deal on contract with SONY for all new GTA games in the next 2 years.

Whoa ChiroVette, your a little touchy on the subject. I haven't seen the amendments or new contract that Rockstar and Sony made, care to post it or provide a link so that I can be inlightened.

I dont have a copy of the contract nor do I need one, but it was clearly stated by both Rockstar AND Sony in Press releases and official announcements. And I am not touchy about anything, just stating facts. The contractual agreement however and the pertinent details (well at least how they apply top porting of the game at any rate) are common knowledge as Rockstar North and TAKE2 Interactive released them a while back in response to the demand from XBox owners for GTA III and Vice City, which were at the time new games.

I didn't mean right away, its just on the ps2 for 2 years. We had to wait for gta3 for two years...

That is about right actually due to the fact that a game too new would violate exclusivity contracts if ported to a competitive system.

Get a life. The only reason that MS and XBox fanboys would be against exclusivity is because in the console war it favors SONY and to a lesser extent, Nintendo. MS is in new territory here because they are the console with the lowest number of widely acclaimed exclusive titles. The fact is that EXCLUSIVITY has nothing to do with SONY (or anyone else for that matter) "Hemming up" developers (whatever that is supposed to mean). Third party software companies make a good chunk of change signing these contracts and agreeing to keep their games exclusive to a console. THAT is what makes one console more or less attractive to some people, the exclusive titles it sports, NOT just system specs.

I got i work with just picked up the pack. For $50, it is a steal. I have both games for PS2 and GTA3 is still legendary. All Xbox users need to get this. There is just too much to do in each. The storyline, esp for GTA3, are great. Also the radio stations are great, esp Lazlow. Hopefully this forum will get busier now and people can discuss the game. I just got an xbox and might get it, just to see the difference.
