I think gta is one of the best games around, but my parents won't buy it because they think it is "unsutialbe" for a 13 year old, but all my mates (who are the same age as me) have it, and there's nothing wrong with them!

i think the game has an 18 restriction. Personally I dont think its that bad. Its just a game and its not reality! People have to be able to distinguish between reality and non reality. But I guess its up to your parents. I dont think you can purchase this game if you go to the shop by yourself.

No. It's not suitable for kids 13 years of age. And of course his parents can distinguish between game and reality. It's very ignorant to think otherwise. That isn't the issue.

The game is an homage to the movie Scarface, and that's also unsuitable for a 13 year old. Your parents are right. Of course playing the game won't kill you or cause you to rob a bank. It's a moral issue though. If your parents are doing their jobs and trying to raise you correctly, then bravo. It's a rarety these days, as your friends may be able to tell you. Put it this way. The game deals with death, guns, drugs, ripping people off, stabbing people in the back, terrorizing civilians, being a menace to society, sex, prostitution, - you even become the manager of a porn studio and can visit a strip joint. If your parents happened to walk into the room and saw that on the tv screen, they'd burn your ps2 and send you to catholic school until you get out of high school.

What I suggest you do is go with your parents to your Games shop and try out the game there. Even let your parents play and feel how it is to play the game. If they dont approve of it, then you will have to wait until you are 18 before you can buy the game Alternatively, you can ask someone else to buy it for you, but then you better hide it from your parents when you have it at home

Hey if u want an unsuitable game, go play MANHUNT!!! Thats only rated MA15+ down here in Australia. Its 100times worse then GTA3 and GTAVC. Your parents are wrong. GTA is not bad at all. Manhunt on the other hand....My bro has it and hes only 13.

I personaly think that it is perfectly suitabalbe. Maybe not PERFECTLY, but its not that bad. I got it as a gift from one of my fathers friends. He convinced my dad to let me play it. Now, he even playes it sometimes, and doesn't complain about it to me. Maybe you should do that.

Old thread, and I'm sure it's been sorted out but I'll throw in my two cents anyway. GTA3 and VC aren't that bad in my opinion. They really aren't all that violent. I don't care what the politicians or whoever say, there's a lot of games way more violent than GTA. As far as the strip joint goes, they're in bikinis. It's not like they're naked or anything. And as for the porn studio, same deal for the most part. In one mission you project Candy's boobs onto a building. That's it. That's all the nudity you're gonna get in the game. GTA3 has prett much nothing in it except the violence. And the language isn't that bad. Well, there's my two cents. Enjoy.
