In my experience there usually isn't much you can do about it when it says that. If its just a few clusters it'll mark them as bad & work fine, but when it says harddisk failure most of the time its beyond repair. My computer was kind enough to tell me "Imminent harddisk failure", and sure enough it did a couple of weeks later
That was a couple of years ago now, but unless anything has changed my advice would be to buy a new one. ------------------- ![]()

If you have S.M.A.R.T. enabled, you should get some sort of message before your hard drive kicks out.
As for a hard disk failure, try making a slave drive and see if you can access any of your old files. -------------------
