It is time for some new Volta...though Omar has a new album coming out on September 9th, which should tide us over...its from 2001 and some of it is supposed to be material that was originally intended for Volta use. And I'm really ready for the Omar and Zach Hill collaboration.

Zach Hill is a beast. But yeah, I'm stoked for the new Omar stuff. Which I think will be great, especially considering what it actually is. But still, I want this new earthy Volta record. I love love love their stuff.

I'm actually pissed I don't have any of my guitar stuff up here, because I'm itching to hook up all my pedals and play something loud and abrasive. For now I just have to stick to acoustic, though.

Hopefully next week I can order my Telecaster and all the parts for it. Though that still leaves the issue of having no amplifier. I need to get my CLassic 50 either shipped up or sold. I think I want to just sell the damn thing, because that'd give me enough to buy my Orange head. And damn, I want my Orange head already. I'm thinking a Rocker head, because they're just *bleep*ing mean. Versatile too, because occasionally I like to play some groove metal and tech shit (though I'm admittedly a slop), but that amp can do it all. Drives much much better than the ADs and shit. A Rockerverb would be nice too, but I'm not sure. And I'm not even getting into the Thunderverb. I don't play bass and it's too expensive as is. Pass.

Yeah, I'm really curious to see exactly what an earthy Volta record will sound like. If some of it is in the same vein as Televators, then I'm really stoked.

I would really like to get an Orange Amp one of these days. That must suck to not have an electric with you. I play acoustic a lot, but sometimes you gotta have the electric.

There was that clip of Beneath the Ayelids that surfaced before TBiG came out, which is apparently on the new album. It was pretty ambient, but mellow as well. Kind of like a cross between the sound of Metatron and the style of Televators. I really hope there's some great diversity to it though. I think it'll be great. They never cease to impress.

Yeah, Orange stuff is amazing. I'm not sure if I'm quite up there talent wise to warrant such a purchase, but I'm not bad, and if I can get what I want, I might as well. I'm into budget guitars anyways, so it's not like I'm getting to hectic with spending. It'd just be the head. Hell, my cab I'm getting for a steal. Avatar all the way.

I've heard Beneath the Eyelids, I rather liked it, although it was surprisingly simple for an Omar song. Simple can be the best though.

I really love playing the bridge in Concertina. Never did learn the jazz solo in Take the Veil. Man I'm glad you randomly showed me that song...

I understand your reasoning with the equipment, as I'm pretty much the definition of a money-saver, but an Orange Amp probably would be worth it, especially if you are into budget guitars like you said.

Well people don't seem to understand that price doesn't always mean everything. I've played 3k+ Gisbons that just shat through the amps and made my hands feel terrible. Some cheap Mexi Strats that I've played are like gold though.

I agree. Most expensive guitar I have is an Epiphone Les Paul. Although that might be because I couldn't buy anything else right now, but still.

Honestly though bro, I'd almost rather get an Epiphone. You just have to sort through them to find the ones made well. Even the same make and model can have goods and bads. It's like Squiers. A lot are mediocre, but if you look, occasionally one that really shines will show up, and for no reason other than the luck of the draw.

I want one of the faded SGs, which you can get for about 500 used, or 700ish new. I might actually get one of those special editions in worn Ebony or worn Ivory that have the three buckers. Though the standard wood finished Faded is really nice too.

THe best Epiphone I played was the bottom of the line 150$ Les Pauls. They come in like black only. They're actually very nice. Best Epiphones, hands down. They beat every Gibson I've played too, actually. Until I recently took a liking to those bottom line Gibson SGs, which are about equal. Shitty for palm muting if you're not used to the bridge heighth, though.

I honestly like cheaper stuff more. Less is more, you know?

I just started playing FFIV and got lost about 5 times I think I found it easier to move around in the original. The mist dragon also looks lame in the DS version.
