Thanks for the thread.
Anyway, some thing that I think need to be pointed out. First of all, I noticed that a lot of the articles being typed are not formatted properly, mostly over one little thing, but it's something that needs to be noted. It seems that some people have a habit of not keying two spaces after the end of every sentence. One space is not enough. The proper way to type, as taught in typing classes and as I have known since first grade, is to use one space after words, commas, colons, and semicolons. Only after sentences do we use two spaces. Another thing that concerns me is the depth of the articles. A lot of them seem to be small paragraphs at best. We really need to offer more information, I think. ------------------- Honor through shame. ![]() Former Rome

Two spaces after sentances? I've never used that myself, and they sure as hell don't teach that in the UK. I think that's really an 'American' thing much like 'Color' as opposed to 'Colour' and it's not something that will matter as much. But we do need people helping to move the content from the Portal to the Wiki, and then to help spruce up the articles on the Wiki.

Well, Krunal, I know some eloquent Brits who know it's the correct standard, myself. Do what you want, but I think that two spaces is what's proper.
Frankly, I don't want to move stuff from the portal to the wiki. I really want to create original material for it. It seems to be working so far. ------------------- Honor through shame. ![]() Former Rome

It's great if your creating original material from the get go, god knows that the Portal while great, isn't the best it could be.
However for those that don't have the type of dedication that you do, I'd appreciate simple porting for the time being as well. As for the double spaces, there's nothing wrong with using it, though, I in my life have never used it, and since I'm a touch typer, I really don't see myself getting into the habbit of double spacing after a full stop. It's just natural for me to add only the one space ------------------- ![]()

Two spaces after a sentence? Sorry Rome but I have never heard of such a thing before. One space, always, is the way I roll.
Though I do agree with you about original content. I don't think moving stuff from the portal onto the Wiki is that great of an idea. Stuff on Wikis are meant to be in-depth, and the portal(the KH portal, at least) didn't have much in-depth information. When you copy and paste stuff form the portal onto the Wiki, the information seems quite shallow and lacking. I think it would be better if we simply ignored the portal altogether and started working on original content.

quote RomeThat's quite rude. How do you know it's the correct one? As I was taught it, one space after everything. EDIT: I was bored, so I sorted out the Drive page. And Rome, please sort this out. http://kingdomhearts.neoseeker.com/wiki/Timeless_River "...giving it the coolest world ever award in my opinion..." Seriously, what? You go to the KH NeoWiki and start contributing... after you have made like 20 contributions or edits and stuff you should be a contributor.
I was thinking of making a Organisation XIII page. Anyone want to help out? right now I want an intro of the organisation. Then we could start on the organisation members. EDIT: Oh I see Rome has already started on that! -------------------

quote MyeyespyPersonally, I think having the sentences dounle-spaced apart makes them easier to edit. Sorted. Should have read the article before I moved it to that page. Right now, the page is empty. I'll get to it soon. Yes, people. Please work on Organization XIII. I got Roxas and Xemnas, two of the hard ones down. I really appreciate some help. Edit: I went and erased most of the small, unhelpful articles for the worlds. I've already typed up two for Agrabah and Hollow Bastion. The rest of them need revision, and I need help with it. So anyone who wants to can. Just remember to make it much longer than a small paragraph. This message was edited by Rome on Jul 01 2008. ------------------- Honor through shame. ![]() Former Rome

Um...I know I'm not a person of great import here, but here in Kansas, or my small little section of it, I was taught to use the double-space method. And for me, it actually helps me discern a sentence from another sentence. But, I would also like to point out that, in my humble opinion, everyone is free to use the method them most prefer and is comfortable with. I prefer double-space, someone else may not. No matter. They can still be understood and thus, have no qualm with me. I hope this can calm any agressions that all you may feel about how something is done. I hope you all have a nice day.

I agree with the double-space thing. It's required for me to turn in papers double-spaced because its so much easier to read.

Wait...you two realize he's talking about THIS double spacing:
"Hi, I am Eureka. I am awesome." Note the TWO spaces between the two sentences, rather than one?(Highlight the space between two words in that sentence, and then highlight the space between the sentences. You'll notice that the space is bigger between the sentences, because I entered the spacebar twice rather than once) He's not talking about double spacing like: "Hi, my name is Eureka and I am better than you in everyway. You can quit crying because you need to realize you will never be as cool as me. So go home you douchebag, go home." The latter I was taught to do with essays, the former? Never.

Friend, I can't help but note with some dismay that you would insult the intellegence of your fellow posters with little care of their feelings on the matter. I am fully aware what was stated in the original post and I am merely posting my opinion, useful or useless as it may be. I also would like to remind you that I made no use of any uncertains terms that I meant the spacing between one sentence to another. What I would like to kindly ask is did you even bother to read my entire post?
