Whenever I get to Roxas' second meeting with Axel, when Diz tells you to go to the mansion, the game sort of, well not freezes since the characters are still moving and visibly breathing and it only happens after the scene ends and goes into another or when someone stops talking. It never interrupts people when they're saying something, any ideas as to wtf happening, I've considered trashing it and getting a new copy.

Anyway it is, the first task to do is clean your disc. Take a piece of paper and start cleaning. Make sure not to leave any fingerprints or other crap in there, because the part your game is jamming at could be in any of those spots.

No, after Diz stops time and I leave, it takes awhile to switch to the scene where Axel is talking to himself. The first time it happened was when I was about fight Setzer, or whatever his name is in the struggle thing, when he tells me to lose and says he'll make it worth my while, after he says it the camera stays on him and he's still breathing but not talking, and the crowd behind him is still cheering and moving, and if I skip the scene it stays dark for a while before switching. This has never happened before he tells me to lose.

Go and rent the kh2 game and try that disk, if it works, get a new copy, if it's the same, it's your ps2.

Well, it does sound like a reading error to me. Tell me, do you hear the PS2 laser moving when the screen is too long black and the character speak stops?

he probably means when you beat setzer, he walks away, stops then points at you. He did that for a bit of dramatics but turned to comic relief when hayner and co. interrupts him.

You missed the whole point. He said that it happens when Setzer tries to bribe you.

And he points at you with that weird style AFTER and IF you win the fight.

It probably is a reading error, I was going to try it on my brother's PS2, but his cables are in storage. He has the original model, I've got slim.
