I'm writing quite a long article that will be explaining everything you would want to know about Kingdom Hearts II.

Kingdom Hearts II Features!

Battle System:

It has been said that Nomura has introduced a new battle engine for KHII. If you've seen the game play videos you would have noticed the increase of the amount of Heartless that appear on the screen. The new engine also allows to include huge amount of Heartless at the top of the screen, which adds a little more life to the game. After you've defeated the group of Heartless that was attacking you another group of Heartless will come from the top of the screen to attack you and so you do the same thing again. You can also switch characters during battle. Here is a picture for you to understand what I’m trying to explain.



As you level up you unlock a variety of abilities to help you on your journey, also you gain more item slots, your defense, strength, HP (Health Points), MP ( Magic Points) and AP (Ability Points) increases.

Worlds!



Aladdin was in the original KH and now has returned with a different role. The world has some new places to visit and some old places you've visited in the previous KH. Iago wants to become Aladdin's friend but Aladdin doesn't trust Iago just yet. Does Iago have what it takes to prove that he is trustworthy and become friends with Aladdin? Jafar's lamp is also on the loose and a merchant will sell it if you have a treasure that is worth trading.



The Beast & Co are currently under spell by a witch who visited them. Xaldin isn't making things easier as he tries to steal Beast's rose. Sora & Co need to release the Beasts servants and get help Beast get his rose back.



Disney Castle couldn't be visited in the first KH but in the second you will be able to visit the Disney Castle and team up with Minnie Mouse.

The castle is in trouble and filled with Heartless. Donald & Goofy go to warn the people inside the castle while you and Minnie battle the Heartless to reach the Corner Stone of Light.



Olympus Coliseum was one of the fans favourite worlds where you compete for challenges to level up and win cups. This time The Underworld will be part of the Olympus Coliseum. So think of it as an extra world. In the Underworld you get to fight against Hades and Cerberus.

Hades summons Auron to help him defeat Hercules once and for all. Auron declines the offer and joins Sora to aid Meg & Defeat Hades. But as they enter the Underworld their strength is weakened and they cannot touch Hades. They find out they need to get a special stone that contains special powers. This very stone doesn't let your power drain away as you enter the Underworld. When Sora & Co get hold of it, they enter the Underworld to settle the score with Hades once and for all.



My favourite Disney movie Mulan will be included in KHII. It has been rumoured to be the first world to lock with your keyblade. We all have seen the Dragon boss you fight at the Emperor's temple.

Mulan pretends to be a a man and joins the army instead of her dad who is very old in age. While shes training Shan Yu is trying to attack the Emperor's Castle. His journey is to go through the snowy mountains but here he encounters Mulan & Sora. He fails and loses his whole army. He decides to attack the Emperor himself and his bird. But this is where the captain of the army finds out Mulan is a woman not a man.



It was quite a surprise to find The Pirates Of The Caribbean confirmed for KHII.

The story is basically based on the film. Pirates can turn into skeletons when they enter the moons light while Jack Sparrow wants to get his ship back. Elizabeth has been kidnapped as Barbossa thinks she is the one that can put an end to their curse. Sora and Co visit POTC to set things straight.



If you've played CoM you would have had a small preview of Twilight Town. Quite a lot of things happen in Twilight Town, it's better to keep things unsaid rather than just spoil whats going to happen here. This is where the game starts off and you most likely will play in Twilight Town more than any other world. Filled with mini games and you can also Struggle as Sora.

Hollow Bastion!

Hollow Bastion was a important world to the main storyline in KH and will be brought back to visit in KHII.

One of the first worlds you visit in Kingdom Hearts II. You have to help the gang re-build Hollow Bastion and get rid of the Heartless surrounding Hollow Bastion.

The World That Never Was

The final world in Kingdom Hearts II. Surrounded with Heartless and Nobodies. Sora & Co travel their to find Kairi, Riku and King Mickey. While Organization XIII keep adding the hearts to Kingdom Hearts. Sora and Co visit this world to stop Organization XIII from becoming anymore powerful and to defeat their leader Xemnas.

Halloween Town!

Jack isn't celebrating Halloween this year, but he's celebrating Christmas. Sally makes him a Santa Claus suit to celebrate Christmas. Malifecent is back and resurrects Oggie Boggie from the dead.



The only world that's in Black & White. Sora visits this world and goes back in the past. Two Pete's make things not easy. Sora and Co try to protect the Corner Stone of Light and lock the door that allows you to visit Timeless River. This world can be accessed from the Disney Castle.



Nomura's favourite Disney movie The Lion King has been recently confirmed. Sora will transform into a lion and the keyblade will be held by his teeth. Donald will transform into a bird and Goofy into a turtle.

Based on the story on the film but Sora and Co only visit the main parts of Pride Lands. Scar has murdered Mufasa (Simba's dad) and has been crowned King of Pride Rock. Sora & Co in search of Simba who is the only one who can stop Scar.



Atlantica is back and better than ever. Instead of pressing square to go up and circle to go down, you can now move freely. Sora and co will transform to the exact same form as the previous KH. In the recent updates it seems that Atlantica isn't a normal world.

This world is different to all the worlds in Kingdom Hearts II. Ursula is back and now you can defeat her by singing and pressing the right buttons at the right time. There is over four songs in Atlantica that needs completing. Each song is unlocked by finishing specific parts in the story.



The world Tron was recently announced. It was planned to be in KHII from the start. It will feature old computer sounds and will also feature a mini game called Light Cycle. The Light Cycle was in the original movie but Nomura didn't make it exactly the same as it was in the movie. What changes he made to the mini game is not known as of yet.

Sora & Co abuse the computer system at Hollow Bastion and are taken to a computer generated world where they meet Tron. They tell Tron that there are many users trying to help him, then they find out they need a password to protect the tower. Things don't go as expected.

100 Acre Wood

Nomura says that this world has majorly improved from KH. He also said that there will be more fun and exciting min games. We've seen one were Pooh is riding on Sora's back collecting honey.

To access the different parts of this world you will need to collect the torn pages again. This time the mini games that are featured in KHII are more fun than it's predecessor.

Navigation System:

The navigation system has been improved. You will be able to have access to items from the navigation system instead of going through the menu's. For example now you can set potion to triangle like you can do with magic spells. The navigation system's colour changes every time you visit a different world.

The navigation system allows you to attack, fuse with party members, perform limits, apply items and more!

Gummi Ship!

The Gummi Ship is now more faster than before. It will include a more variety of parts like weapons to input on your Gummi Ship. The Gummi Ship seems to be an attraction ride instead of a ship that is used for transport.

While transporting to different worlds you sometimes encounter bosses and these bosses contain treasures to unlock new ships and different parts that are vital to create the ultimate Gummi Ship. Nitro's, front bumpers, side skirts, you name it.

HP, MP & Drive Guage!



Everything is still the same except the MP bar has been replaced with a yellow bar called drive. The MP bar is now above the HP bar. As you defeat enemies they will drop yellow balls. The more you pick up the more the Drive Gauge fills up. When it reaches maximum Sora will go in a short transformation sequence either fusing with Donald or Goofy. The fun doesn't last for long since the countdown starts from 5 and the Drive gauge starts to decrease, but you can increase it if you carry on collecting yellow balls.

HP (Health Points)

Health Points increase in two ways in Kingdom Hearts II, when you level up or when you complete a certain part of the story.

MP

Magic Points increase the same way as Health Points.

Fusion!

There is five forms you transform into. They are:

Valor Form



This is what Sora will look like after fusing with Goofy. While Sora is in Valor Form he can do heavy combo's on his enemies and wield 2 keyblades. To level up this form you'll need to strike your enemies, and for each successful strike you get one step closer to leveling up. Each Heartless you defeat gets you one step closer to leveling up Valor Form. When you level up Valor Form the Drive gauge's duration increases and sometimes you get new abilities to equip.

How to level up: For each successful strike, your one step closer to leveling up.

Wisdom Form



This is what Sora looks like after fusing with Donald. While you fuse with Donald you can't walk but you can glide. There is an attack called "Shoot" while in Wisdom Form you can activate it on your enemy. To level up Wisdom form is basically the same as Valor Form.

How to level up: When you shoot at an enemy & connects.

Master Form



Master Form drains drive gauge like crazy but it gets the job done. To level up this form you need to collect the drive orbs that are found on the floor while in Master Form. These orbs also increase your duration in any form for a millisecond longer.

How to level up: Collecting Drive orbs.

Final Form



Final Form is obtained when you level up the other forms. This form is the strongest form you can transform into in Kingdom Hearts II. Has the best growth abilities also.

How to level up: Vanquishing Nobody's.

Anti-Form

Sora transforms into one when he takes a lot of damage and when he chooses to transform into any form you turn into one of these. Sora turns all black and is super fast. Yet this is the weakest form you can transform into and the reaction command doesn't work while in Anti-Form.

How to level up: You cannot.

Limit Form

Limit Form basically allows you to perform abilities that you weren't able to perform in KHII. Some abilities will return from KH such as Dodge Roll or Ragnarok.

How to level up: Unknown as of yet.

Obtainable only in KHII:FM!

XIII Organization!



Xaldin


Gets Beast on his side and tries to steal his rose. You see him in Beast's Castle and he uses the power of wind & his Lance during battle.

Axel


He says that him and Roxas were best friends and he helps Sora on his journey. He uses the power of fire during battle to defeat his opponents. His more of a good person rather than a bad person in the Organization. Has a famous quote "Got it memorized?".

Demyx


Has the weapon of a guitar and is first encountered at the Underworld. He uses the element of water to defeat his opponents and has a famous quote "Dance water dance!".

Luxord


He was seen in Port Royal with Elizabeth. He has a large amount of cards that has the Nobody symbol on them. He uses the cards to attack his opponents. One of the most powerful Organization members with cards that are dangerous and a style that can never be learnt.

Saix


You find him in The World That Never was. One of the coolest members in the Organization and uses a Colossal sword as his weapon. He uses the power of the moon & berserks frequently to defeat his opponents.

Xemnas


The leader of Organization XIII. Sora helps him by defeating Heartless and each time Sora defeats a Heartless a heart travels to Kingdom Hearts. Xemnas is the strongest member in the Organization and has many forms to transform into. He was also studying with Ansem about the heart. Xemnas is the superior in the Organization and he showcases us this, by transforming into different forms.

Xigbar


Has a sniper which can zoom in on opponents. The gun can shoot multiple shots at the same time. He uses the power of light to defeat his opponents.

Roxas


Roxas is the youngest member in the Organization and one of coolest and most powerful. Roxas is evidently Sora's Nobody and Sora's memories keep intervening with Roxas's dreams once he's asleep. Roxas is created at Hallow Bastion in Kingdom Hearts when Sora transformed into a Heartless.

Villians!

Shan Yu


Last seen in the movie Mulan. This guy owns an animal which is an eagle. He uses it to steal items that he wants. He also has an army of over three thousand men.

Jafar


Jafar was last seen in Kingdom Hearts. He was actually destroyed and was put back in the lamp. I guess someone set him loose in KHII.

Pete


Last seen in Goofy Movie. As said above. He must have reasons of why he wants to set Jafar loose. Plus he follows you to Pride Lands, Timeless River, Underworld and The World That Never Was. Pete accompanies Malificent to find a castle and Sora is always their to fail his plans.

Hades


Last seen in Kingdom Hearts. You fought him in Hades cup and then disappears. But now he is back and better than ever. This time you get to fight him in his hometown. The Underworld.

Ursula


Didn't we fight her 2 times already? Last seen in Kingdom Hearts. Now shes back. She looks stronger and fatter this time around. Just pray that we don't have to fight her another 2 times.

Scar


Last seen well years ago in The Lion King. Killed his brother and took over Pride Lands. When Simba grew up he fought Scar and took back the Pride Lands. Maybe Sora arrives just after Simba's dad is killed?

Oggie Boogie


Last seen in Kingdom Hearts. I think he is back because he wants to destroy Christmas that Jack's been planning all year long.

Summons

Peter Pan


Peter Pan is able to perform moves that trigger Sora to also participate in. For example like 'The Flying Boy'. This move enables Sora to glide with Peter Pan until the Drive gauge is empty.


Stitch


Stitch can kill Heartless by playing music with his guitar.

Chicken Little


His weapon is a baseball bat. His attacks are called Cracker and Pitched. He is the first summon you acquire in Kingdom Hearts II.

Genie


Genie is back to help you in Kingdom Hearts II. You acquire him the second time you visit Agrabah. Genie's attire can vary depending on what you select in the Drive menu once you summon him. He can use all the forms you've currently obtained, except Anti Form.

New Sora Attires:

New attires are being introduced for Sora and I will display them below.

Halloween Town Attire


This is probably the new Halloween Town attire were going to be using in that world, but what happened to the old one?

Birth By Sleep

What could birth by sleep mean, well as we all know, after the defeat of Ansem in KH1, the trio traveled to Castle Oblivion, with each floor they climbed, they lost memory, at the end Namine put them in capsules for 1 year and restored their memory, Now when you lose your memory, all you know is gone and every face you knew no longer exists, maybe it seems that you don't exist, like your not "born" but when you receive your memory once again, it is almost as though you have been "born" thus my they were born within a time of sleeping, Birth By Sleep.

y'all shall love me for this, boyo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The game was cool, but way to familiar, there just wasn't a "Wow" to it, it was rather...disappointing as far as originality, (my opinion) I give this game a 6/10

it might not have the appeal the first kh had but its intresting to find out what happened to our heroes after the end of kh..new weapons,new summons..old friends in the game..combos are great(although it can get a little painful in the thumb if there's a lot of enemies hehe)

roxas/sora personality is one of its best improvements and challenges...am sure most of us have our preferences who we liked better/worse but that added the twist in the game..
also i liked the infos given on the game regarding how and why it started in the first place and given a decent conclusion on the story bout the heartless

though yes some parts needs improvement or should be delivered in a different manner

yeah i know what you mean..its kinda general when they say they are born of the darkness..some questions are still not answered and lets hope the next installment if ever they will make one soon would give answer to those
