	in autumn, behind the church. you could have gotten it from the horse race by exchanging medals for it. or if you have a cursed, blessed, or mythic hammer you can get it on the path by kappa's lake in the autumn.

Yes you can! you could but it wouldn't matter because you can only get the cursed tools in the winter mine and the truffle in the path is only there in the fall. unless you mean getting the tools through cheats, but cheats might mess the whole game up for you.

	i've done it...of course i kind of cheated by using the saving then reloading thing in the mine so i didn't have to use so much energy finding the stairs.
