Is there a map editor for this game? I can't find one.

Nope, sorry no map editor. Just kidding.

If you go to the start menu go into programs and find Liquid Entertainment, War of the Ring World Editor should be there.

This map editor is a bear to figure out.

I had worked with many a map editor ...

[1602, Star Wars Battleground, Warcraft II, Starcraft, Heroes II, Heroes III, Stronghold, Stronghold Crusader.]

... and this is the worst. I mean, it's a tough map editor and no help file. In fact, the game makers have a harsh remark about 'taking no responsibility' or some such thing if we have problems with our map editors.

It's a great game on its own, but I personally enjoy making my own maps. I like sea battles for one thing. Getting any kind of real sea fight started in LOR is difficult. So, I just play it now and then to see those Riders of Rohan kick the enemies' tails sometimes [and other such momentary thrills].
