WOTR Starting Locations on Custom Maps???? |
|
A friend and I have created several custom maps for online play, but we can figure out how to get the maps to correctly use the start locations.
We've tried using "Allies near each other", and even specifying the first two players Player0 and Player1 as humans with StartPoint0 and StartPoint1 next to each other. No matter what we do, it always seems to start the two (allied) players on the opposite corners of the map. I know this game is all but forgotten by many, but if anyone knows a way to address this issue please let me know! Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, ISILION, War of the Ring has been forgotten by many...but not all.
Ok, are you CERTAIN that starting points are closer to each other than any other starting points? I would try placing your starting points very close to each other, just to make sure that they are closest to each other. If that doesn't work, try placing your enemies' starting positions closer together (it's a long shot, but it might work). If all else fails, you could try placing all starting positions on the map in groups of two.(Hopefully this won't ruin the setup of your map). Well, you've probably already fixed the problem a year ago, but oh, well.
