FSB 133 MHz |
|
High, I`m using m7vkb and now I bought Duron Applebred 1,4. It runs at 1050 MHz 10,5x100. I`ve read somwhere that KT133 was prepared by Via to run Athlons at 133 MHz FSB but AMD said that first processors for socket A will run on 100 MHz FSB only. So Via didn`t support FSB 133 on this chipset and then released "new" KT133A which supported 100/133 FSB. But chipsets are the same (someone said). How can I enable 133 MHz FSB on my mobo? In manual threre are described non existing jumpers for 133 MHz and below is written that processors with FSB higher than 100 MHz are not recomended. Does it mean that it`s possible? Can someone help me?
Thanks very much. Jan | |

the memory and fsb speeds are two seperate things. the kt133 supported a memory clock of 133 mhz but a front side bus of only 100 mhz. the kt133a added 133 Mhz FSB speed support. the kt133 was not really known for its overclocking prowess so you'll be hard pressed to get anywhere close to 133 mhz. that is also compounded with the fact that most boards of that generation did not have the pci or agp buses locked.
